Krysten Ritter has made one thing very clear: she wants Jessica Jones to finally cross paths with The Punisher in the MCU. While her return in ‘Daredevil: Born Again‘ brought Jessica back into Marvel’s street-level world, it also showed us one missed opportunity.
Despite both characters being active in the same universe again, Ritter didn’t get a single on-screen moment with Jon Bernthal’s The Punisher. Now, she is openly pushing for that crossover to happen. Her comments have reignited excitement around what could be one of Marvel’s most intense character pairings.
How Jessica Jones And The Punisher Could Finally Share The Screen

The conversation picked up during the 2026 C2E2 panel, where Krysten Ritter was asked about potential crossovers. Instead of giving a vague answer, she focused on a specific idea; Jessica Jones sharing a scene with The Punisher, even if it’s just for a short stretch.

She joked that “maybe 12 minutes would be totally enough.” Even a brief interaction between these two characters could deliver something intense, given how layered and grounded both of them are within Marvel’s street-level stories.
The part that makes this more interesting is the timing. Marvel has already started reconnecting its darker, street-level universe through ‘Daredevil: Born Again‘. And both Jessica Jones and Frank Castle are now back within that same space. That makes a crossover less of a stretch and more of a logical next move.

The Emotional and Dramatic Potential Behind Jessica Jones and Punisher

Ritter also explained why this pairing works beyond just fan excitement. She said she enjoys watching Bernthal’s performances and believes their characters would connect strongly on screen. Jessica Jones and Frank Castle may operate differently, but both are subject to deep personal loss.
Ritter even described them as “goth mom and dad.” Ritter noted that a special or standalone story featuring both characters would feel like a natural progression. It is especially now that both are active again in the same universe.
Marvel Studios has been steadily rebuilding its street-level universe, and bringing Jessica Jones and The Punisher together would strengthen that direction. Both characters were among the most popular from the earlier Marvel Television era, and their return will certainly benefit the universe.
