Letitia Wright has officially pulled the curtain back, just a little, on what’s next for Shuri, the Black Panther mantle, and Marvel’s rapidly approaching Multiverse Saga finale. Although Marvel Studios has always been very secretive, Wright’s recent remarks have provided the fans with something that they have never had before: actual confirmation for the most anticipated projects in the MCU, ‘Avengers: Secret Wars’ and ‘Black Panther 3’.
With her interview and fresh comments by Ryan Coogler, it is evident that Shuri is emerging as a major player in the future of the MCU. And, more importantly, it is evident that Wright is taking on that responsibility with heart, vulnerability, and the emotional weight of a legacy she still honors onscreen.
Letitia Wright Confirmed Shuri’s Return In ‘Avengers: Secret Wars’

The biggest Marvel news is sometimes made not with a slick Comic-Con panel, but with a slip of the tongue, and the news that Letitia Wright was making was just that. In an interview with SR, Wright was questioned about the long-awaited ‘Black Panther 3’. Instead of diving into Wakandan updates, she casually dropped a bombshell. “All I know is that we just finished Secret Wars, and that was really great.”

Fans froze. Did she say “finished Secret Wars”? A beat later, she corrected herself instantly. “Doomsday, sorry. I confuse the two. That’s what I have to film next, Secret Wars. But Doomsday, we finished that, and that was very great.” The correction made it all clear. Wright was not exposing delays or concealed shoots. She was validating what fans have been theorizing for months.
Shuri has an established role in both ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ and ‘Avengers: Secret Wars‘, the latter of which will start shooting in 2026. She laughed at the misunderstanding and then settled down and talked with sincere enthusiasm. “I had a lot of fun on that, so I’m excited for everybody to see it,” she stated.
Speaking of her role, Wright got emotional, thinking of the burden of bearing the Black Panther name and Chadwick Boseman’s legacy. “It’s an honor… I carry my brother every time. It’s a big, big, huge honor for me.” However, when questioned about a defining moment on set, the one that sticks with you, she simply stated, “I cannot say anything.”
Ryan Coogler On ‘Black Panther 3’ Progress

The future of ‘Black Panther 3’ was unconfirmed for a while. There were rumors, speculation, but no official confirmation, until recently. At Deadline Contenders, Coogler was asked whether ‘Black Panther 3’ would be his next movie. His response was typical Coogler, calm, modest, yet profound. “If it were anyone but you, I would say I could neither confirm nor deny. But we’re working on it… We’re working on it hard. It’s the next movie.”

Those few words not only confirmed the film but also the momentum. This aligns with the slow but steady updates trickling out since ‘Wakanda Forever’ concluded its emotional arc in 2022. The franchise earned 859.2 million dollars globally and left the door wide open for Shuri’s evolution. Marvel is entering Phase 7 post-Secret Wars, and ‘Black Panther 3’ is likely to be one of the first projects to bring that new era.
