Wally’s owner, Joie Henney disclosed the news of the alligator being missing. Henney revealed that Wally was stolen while he went to meet his friends. Henney claimed that there is a guy who loves to drop alligators into other people’s yards to scare them.

He said, “Apparently this guy around 30 years old was in there bragging about how he stole Wally, apparently he has him in his house in his basement, so I don’t know, we just have to find out.”

According to a post on Wally’s Facebook page, someone called the Department of Natural Resources on Wally a few days ago. He was later escorted and released into a swamp. Henney and his friend went to the swamp to find Wally but didn’t find him there. After the news went viral, an alligator rescue group, GatorBoys, offered to help find Wally.

Henney thanked people for their support. “I want to thank everyone for their support and their concern. Wally is very important to me as well as to a lot of other people that he makes happy and puts joy in their hearts,” Henney wrote on a Facebook post.
