Marvel’s Netflix shows introduced street-level heroes to the MCU like Daredevil, Jessica Jones, and Luke Cage. While the shows have been canceled, the stars still want to reprise their roles. Mike Colter, who famously played Luke Cage, has expressed interest in returning to the role if Marvel Studios comes calling.
At the red carpet event for his new movie ‘The Union‘, Colter opened up about the possibility of playing Luke Cage again in the MCU. He said he would love to explore what a return could look like now that so many years have passed since his own show.
Colter Is Open To Luke Cage’s Revival
While Luke Cage hasn’t been confirmed for an MCU return yet, Colter remains optimistic. He said in an interview with ComicBook, “I would love to explore it, if they found some story, some way, somewhere, to take it“. Colter is leaving the door open and welcoming any story that could bring the character back. Fans are hopeful that Marvel will develop something to give Colter another chance at playing the iconic hero. Only time will tell if Kevin Feige and the studio find a way to include Harlem’s hero again.
Colter has moved on to starring in other projects like ‘The Union‘ while he waits to see what the future holds for Luke Cage. Fans can only hope Marvel finds the right story to give Colter and Luke Cage a well-deserved return to the MCU in upcoming phases of storytelling. Until then, Colter will continue entertaining audiences in other projects outside of Marvel and the MCU.

Mike Colter Praises Daredevil’s Return
Colter is excited that Charlie Cox is returning as Daredevil in the Disney+ series Born Again. When asked about it, Colter stated “I’m happy that Charlie Cox and those are getting it rebooted, but I don’t have any [idea if Luke Cage is getting rebooted]“.
He praised Marvel’s decision to continue Cox’s storyline instead of rebooting it. In a quote, Colter said, “I think that’s the right move. They should have never tried [to reboot it.] No, no, I don’t know what that was about. I’m like, ‘Well, yeah, duh,’ It was not broke, so don’t fix it.”
