The Marvel Panel led by MCU President Kevin Feige at H Hall, Comic-Con 2024 in San Diego brought out many surprises and delightful announcements for the public – one being that the Marvel Cinematic Universe has now become the first film franchise in history to hit the $30 billion mark at the worldwide box office.

The sensational release of Marvel’s latest movie ‘Deadpool And Wolverine’ scored a whopping $96 million on opening day in North America and is expected to bring a lot more in through the week.

With 34 installments over 15 years, Marvel has had its fair share of ups and downs with greatly successful movies including ‘Avengers: Endgame‘ ($2.799 billion) and ‘Infinity War‘ ($2.05 billion) as well as the ones that didn’t pan out that well like ‘Eternals‘ ($402 million), ‘Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania‘ ($476 million) and ‘The Marvels’ ($206 million).

Although released only a couple of days ago, Marvel’s ‘Deadpool and Wolverine’ is ready to hit records one after the other. With Wolverine back on screen, fans are now excited to see many more characters make their comeback.

This excitement and enthusiasm has reportedly generated $233 million at the international box office and $438 million globally. This means that Deadpool is becoming one of the highest-grossing releases of the year right after ‘Inside Out 2’ ($1.5 billion), ‘Dune: Part Two’ ($711 million), ‘Despicable Me 4’ ($596 million), ‘Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire’ ($567.6 million) and ‘Kung Fu Panda 4’ ($545 million) in terms of worldwide ticket sales in 2024.

The Box Office analysts are predicting that the movie might even clear the $1 billion mark which would make it the second R-rated movie to do so right after 2019’s ‘Joker’ which made $1.07 billion globally.

The Deadpool franchise is known to hit records as 2016’s ‘Deadpool’ made $782 million and 2018’s ‘Deadpool 2’ made $785 million which made them the highest-grossing R-rated films at their time.
