He is no longer merely chasing down criminals; he is seeking meaning. That in itself is a tremendous development for a character who has long been characterized by revenge. It’s not another action-heavy entry.

The other thrilling aspect is the extent to which the project relates to Marvel’s Netflix era. It is also heavily hinted that the story may bring one of Frank’s most brutal foes in the comics, Ma Gnucci.
Although Marvel has not officially announced her, the imagery in the trailer has fans theorizing. If so, it would give Frank a villain who would match his intensity in a much different, more psychological manner.
