Feige emphasized that any future actor taking on the role of Wolverine would need to forge their own path and work very hard to fill Hugh’s shoes. “I think it will be in a very different style and in a different way. I also think if somebody were to attempt to do a Hugh Jackman as Wolverine impression, that would be a pretty big mistake,” he stated.

According to him, the best approach for the actor would be to go for a whole different strategy and methodology. Moreover, Feige’s perspective reflects the impact Hugh’s Wolverine has had on the MCU. Jackman’s portrayal has become synonymous with the character. Just anyone would not be able to replicate the character.

Additionally, acknowledgment of the possibility of a future Wolverine suggests that the character remains a vital part of the Marvel universe. He also talked about comic book fans knowing that Wolverine has had numerous iterations over the years. And each with their own unique take on the character.

However, Feige also clarified that this is not an immediate priority. Currently, the studio has not found an opportunity to create other projects and there are no definite actions of the studio intended to recast the role. For now, Jackman’s Wolverine will continue to be a part of the MCU.
