Marvel fans have already broken down every frame of the latest ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ character teasers. With Captain America’s return, X-Men and Fantastic Four glimpses, and Thor’s emotional arc, the internet has been busy connecting the dots.
However, as directors Anthony and Joe Russo claim, those clips were not trailers, they were stories and clues. That means the actual marketing drive is yet to begin. And, as Marvel’s history shows, we shall have to wait.
Marvel Is Playing the Long Game With ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ Promotion

In a retrospective of the previous Avengers movies, Marvel Studios has had a relatively steady schedule. The initial official teaser is usually released five to seven months prior to release.
In October 2011, ‘The Avengers’ released its first trailer, which was approximately 200 days before its release in theaters. The same was the case with ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron’, whose teaser was released approximately six months before the film.

The schedule was further narrowed down by ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ and ‘Avengers: Endgame’, which had shorter marketing periods of 156 and 140 days, respectively. Marvel has been moving toward shorter hype cycles, massive payoffs, and big builds.
Now consider that ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ is not going to be released until December 18, 2026. That’s still about 11 months away. Based on past trends, the first true teaser likely won’t surface until late spring or early summer.
‘Doomsday’s Big Reveal Hasn’t Even Started And Summer 2026 Makes The Most Sense

If Marvel follows its traditional approach, the earliest realistic time frame would be May or June to release a full trailer. May would be a good time to launch it to screen before the big summer blockbusters, like ‘The Mandalorian’ and ‘Grogu’.
Conversely, a July release would also be equally strategic. Releasing the trailer with ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ would provide intrinsic MCU synergy and allow the Avengers’ spotlight to shine when Peter Parker has had his time in the limelight.

Could Marvel shock the world with an earlier release? Of course. They’ve done it before. But history suggests otherwise. The clues are all we have as of yet.
It is probably still months before the actual curtain-raising moment of ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ arrives, and when it does, it will more than likely take over the conversation overnight.
