Marvel Studios is preparing to unleash the biggest stories yet with ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ and ‘Avengers: Secret Wars’, the two massive Phase 6 films set to conclude the Multiverse Saga. While Marvel has kept much of the storyline under wraps, fans are getting bits and pieces through the stars themselves.
Now, the latest updates point toward intriguing character dynamics, team-ups, and possibly even some romantic sparks. Tenoch Huerta, who played Namor in ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’, is officially back for ‘Avengers: Doomsday’. Meanwhile, Dafne Keen, who played X-23 in ‘Logan’ and returned in ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’, revealed that she hasn’t yet been confirmed for the movie.
Tenoch Huerta Believes ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ Will Keep Character Arcs Condensed For A Good Reason

During a candid interview on La Resolana, Tenoch Huerta confirmed that Namor will be returning in ‘Avengers: Doomsday’. His comments about the film’s scale revealed just how massive the cast really is. “In truth, the dynamic is different now because there are like 25 characters in the story, which means that each of our roles are smaller. It’s more condensed because we have to make room for all the characters and universes involved,” Huerta explained.

That scale is no surprise. ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ is expected to bring together nearly every corner of the MCU, including characters from The Fantastic Four, the returning X-Men, and heroes who debuted in Disney+ shows. The challenge for Marvel will be finding a balance so that the film doesn’t lose its emotional core in the middle of the chaos. Still, Huerta teased something fans have long speculated about: the potential Namor-Sue Storm connection.
In the comics, Namor has an infamous romantic tension with Sue Storm. Additionally, their relationship often tests Reed Richards’ patience. When pressed about this on the show, Huerta coyly responded: “It happened in the comics… That’s the comics. You’ll have to watch the movie“. The host kept pushing, even mentioning Vanessa Kirby, who plays Sue Storm in ‘The Fantastic Four: First Steps’ and is also set to appear in ‘Avengers: Doomsday’.
However, Huerta didn’t confirm anything. He just praised Kirby as “a great coworker” and “spectacular,” sparking even more speculation that their characters will share the screen in a meaningful way. If Marvel does explore this storyline, it could add an exciting layer of interpersonal drama to an otherwise multiversal war.
Dafne Keen On Her Possible ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ Appearance

On the other side of things, Dafne Keen, who recently reprised her role as Laura/X-23 in ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’, isn’t so sure about her place in ‘Avengers: Doomsday’. During FAN EXPO Canada, she was asked directly whether she would be joining the upcoming film. “I actually have no idea, like, legitimately, I swear to you… I literally, right now, I have no idea. I’ve not heard,” she stated.

For fans, this uncertainty is both frustrating and exciting. Keen’s return in ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ was a major highlight. Moreover, her chemistry with Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds opened the door for a bigger role in the MCU. Given that ‘Doomsday’ is reportedly featuring mutants and may even lay groundwork for the X-Men, it would make sense for X-23 to appear, especially as Logan himself is unlikely to stick around past ‘Secret Wars’.
However, Marvel secrecy is legendary, and even actors often don’t know their status until very late in the process. It’s worth noting that Ryan Reynolds and Chris Evans were also only recently reported as part of ‘Doomsday’s cast. If Keen does appear, Marvel may be saving that reveal for later.
