A fresh take on Peter Parker’s iconic origin story is about to swing onto Disney+ with ‘Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man’, and an exclusive first clip officially released by Marvel is already making waves.
The clip offers a glimpse of the fateful moment when Peter is bitten by the radioactive spider that grants him his legendary powers. However, with a few notable twists from the classic comic book version.
‘Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man’s Peter Parker Was Bit On The Neck
In the clip from ‘Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man’, Peter is seen outside the ruins of Midtown High, helping a student named Nico Minoru. As the two talk, a spider crawls up Peter’s back and bites him on the neck. This already departs from the more traditional version of the story where Peter is bitten on the hand during a science exhibit.
Interestingly, the scene echoes 2012’s ‘The Amazing Spider-Man’, where Andrew Garfield‘s Peter Parker was also bitten on the neck. However, that’s not the only detail that’s raising eyebrows. After biting Peter, the spider escapes and lands on another student’s backpack.
Could this be a subtle setup for Miles Morales or another young hero in the making? While Marvel hasn’t confirmed anything, the teaser has already sparked speculation about the potential for multiple Spider-powered characters in the series.
‘Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man’: Unique Release Schedule Unveiled
Marvel Studios has also unveiled the official release schedule for ‘Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man’, giving fans a clearer picture of how the 10-episode animated series will roll out. Thankfully, the wait between episodes won’t be a long one.

The series is set to debut with a two-episode premiere on January 29, followed by three episodes on February 5, another three on February 12, and a two-part finale on February 19. This compressed schedule means fans won’t have to endure the often frustratingly slow drip of weekly episodes.
Instead, the series will be delivered in rapid-fire fashion over just four weeks. This makes it easier for viewers to stay engaged with the story’s momentum. Marvel is experimenting with mixing the binge model with slow-burn releases. Additionally, the studios also teased the episode titles, starting with “Amazing Fantasy.”
Moreover, this is a clear nod to Amazing Fantasy #15, the 1962 comic book that introduced Spider-Man to the world. This homage hints at a show that will balance modern updates with respect for Spider-Man’s comic book roots. So, fans are in for a treat.
