After the San Diego Comic-Con, Marvel has left fans completely shaken with some massive announcements. The biggest of them all was Robert Downey Jr’s return to the MCU. This time as the villain- Doctor Doom. Marvel also announced two of the upcoming Avengers movies.
Originally titled ‘Avengers: The Kang Dynasty’, the film has undergone several changes as announced at the Comic-Con. The new title of the film is ‘Avengers: Doomsday’. So what was the plot line of the original movie? And what to expect from the new one?
What Was ‘Avengers: Kang Dynasty’ About?
The original plan for ‘Avengers: Kang Dynasty’ was supposed to focus on the Council of Kangs and Jonathan Majors’ Kang The Conqueror. However, the story has been scrapped completely. But here’s what the film might have been about if the plot was not changed.
The Avengers gathered Anchor Beings from across the Multiverse, believing they are the only ones powerful enough to defeat the Council of Kangs. The movie was supposed to focus on Spiderman from the multiverse. Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield were the Anchors for their respective realities.
Tom Holland’s Spider-Man served as the Anchor for Earth-616. Apart from them, the movie would also have featured Nic Cage’s Ghost Rider. ‘Avengers: Kang Dynasty‘ was supposed to be set up for the next movie ‘Avengers: Secret Wars’. The latter being a bigger scale movie than the former.

What Are The Changes Made In ‘Avengers: Doomsday’?
As announced at the Comic-Con, the plot of the upcoming movie has been changed completely. ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ is going to feature a new villain that is Dr Doom. The supposed plot is that in an alternate universe, Robert Downey Jr’s character becomes the villainous Dr Doom instead of the heroic Iron Man.
Apart from him, the Fantastic Four and the Thunderbolts would appear in Avengers 5 and 6 also. A new plot has not been announced yet but the Kang plot has been discarded. The focus now shifted to Dr Doom and the new faces like the Fantastic Four.
