Ahead of ‘Captain America: Brave New World’s highly anticipated release in early 2025, Marvel Studios has officially confirmed a detail about Red Hulk’s powers that comic book fans long suspected.
Moreover, this revelation comes from a product description for a Hasbro action figure. While not much it gave fans a sneak peek at how Thunderbolt Ross’s transformation into the Red Hulk will be portrayed in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
MCU Confirms Red Hulk’s Heat-Radiating Skin
The confirmation comes as Harrison Ford steps into the role of General Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross. The revelation of the Red Hulk’s abilities comes from a description on the Hasbro ‘Captain America: Brave New World’ Marvel Legends Red Hulk Deluxe Action Figure.

The description not only highlights Red Hulk’s immense strength but also confirms that his skin radiates “intense heat, burning everything he touches.” This power is a direct nod to the character’s comic book origins. In the comics, Red Hulk’s body emits gamma radiation that intensifies with his rage.
This power sometimes makes him appear as if he is on fire, with the radiation growing so intense it could cause him to overheat and even explode. The action figure description doesn’t specifically mention gamma radiation. However, the adaptation of the heat-emission ability is a clear acknowledgment of Red Hulk’s fiery reputation.
Additionally, the description ties Red Hulk’s transformation to Samuel Sterns, aka The Leader, who will serve as the main antagonist in ‘Brave New World’. Played by Tim Blake Nelson, Sterns last appeared in ‘The Incredible Hulk.’ His character was exposed to gamma radiation in the film.
Now, he seems to be directly responsible for creating Red Hulk, promising a showdown with Captain America. Moreover, fans are eager to see if the MCU will include the comics’ feature of Red Hulk’s anger amplifying his powers and this little detail reveals a lot.
Anthony Mackie On Sam Wilson’s Unique Approach As Captain America In ‘Captain America: Brave New World’
Meanwhile, Anthony Mackie, who plays Sam Wilson, is gearing up to take center stage in ‘Captain America: Brave New World’. As the first Captain America without the Super Soldier Serum, Sam’s journey will be quite different from that of Steve Rogers.

Speaking at the Disney APAC Content Showcase in Singapore, Mackie explained how Sam’s lack of enhanced strength and durability shapes the action in the movie. “It’s very different with the serum you can fight anybody. When you don’t have the serum, you have to be smart and engineer different ways of defeating enemies,” Mackie explained.
“With Sam, him being a counselor, he uses more of his brains than brawn. He uses more of his wit than his fist. He’s more of a friend to everyone,” he added. This distinction is crucial. Unlike Steve Rogers, who relied on the serum to give him superhuman strength and endurance, Sam’s approach is rooted in strategy, intellect, and compassion.
Moreover, fans of ‘The Falcon and The Winter Soldier’ will remember Sam’s decision to reject the serum. Instead, he chose instead to rely on his skills and advanced Wakandan tech. His vibranium wings, combined with his mind, allow him to carve his own path as Captain America.
