Losing a child to a disease for which you can’t do anything is the saddest thing a parent can experience. Rob Delaney lost his son Henry Delaney to brain tumor in 2018 and the tragedy happened months before the actor’s debut in the theatre with ‘Deadpool 2’. Hence, Ryan Reynolds wanted ‘Deadpool And Wolverine‘ to mention Rob.
Reynolds shared his regret of not paying the special tribute to Henry in ‘Deadpool 2′ but made sure to do it in ‘Deadpool And Wolverine‘.
Ryan Reynolds Added Tribute To Rob Delaney’s Late Two-Year-Old Son
Ryan Reynolds took to Instagram to share a heartwarming detail from the blockbuster movie ‘Deadpool And Wolverine’. He wrote a touching message for Rob Delaney, who plays the character of Peter, Wade Wilson’s (Deadpool) friend.
Ryan wrote, “There’s more to Rob Delaney than some realize, He’s one of the most subversively funny people I know. He’s a beautiful, acerbic and vulnerable writer. If you stayed through the credits of ‘Deadpool & Wolverine,’ you might notice a credit saying, ‘For Henry Delaney.’ Henry was Rob’s son. And Rob lost his little boy to a brain tumor in 2018. Right as we finished ‘Deadpool 2.’”
Ryan was really upset about the fact that he missed the tribute during Rob’s debut. But he also threw light on the fact that people watched the tribute during the credits of ‘Deadpool And Wolverine‘: “And at long last, father and son are sharing the same screen.”

Ryan Reynolds Feels Lucky To Be Friends With Rob Delaney
Rob wrote a memoir titled ‘A Heart That Works’ in 2022. Ryan referred to it as “An incredible piece of writing which explores the kaleidoscopic colors of emotion Henry’s passing revealed.” He added the book is “an unfiltered, rageful, loving, sad and hilarious (yes, HILARIOUS) look at grief.”
Furthermore, the Deadpool actor also added that he feels lucky to be friends with Rob. He’s grateful to have such selfless people in his life who make others feel less alone.
After appearing in the Deadpool movies, Rob’s Peter Pool persona became an absolute fan-favorite. The actor “felt different” after portraying the role in the recent Marvel movie as well. He noted about his ‘Deadpool and Wolverine‘ performance, “I haven’t been coached on what to say here. It felt different. It felt bigger, for sure. “I mean, it still felt controlled, and you felt Ryan’s authorial voice moving through it, and it felt pure, but yeah, it felt bigger.”
