Ryan Reynolds, who plays the pivotal role of Deadpool in the film, recently revealed that its previous title was ‘Deadpool And Friend’, which was changed to ‘Deadpool And Wolverine‘ later. The change, as Reynolds revealed during his appearance on the ‘Jimmy Kimmel Show‘, was made after a lot of behind the scenes struggles. Here’s all he said about it.

Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman took over ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live’ this Wednesday and the never-ending jokes about their latest film ‘Deadpool and Wolverine‘ flew naturally. The first segment of the show included a 13-minute monologue, while the latter part showed the two stars interviewing each other.
During the interview, Ryan, who also served as the producer for the film, revealed that the movie was originally named ‘Deadpool And Friend’ which was later changed to ‘Deadpool And Wolverine’. He explained, “We were not feeling so good about that anymore, and it went with the trailer that we were showing. It was kind of a perfect title for the first piece of materials we had out there.”
Reynolds also added that before the trailer release of the movie during the Super Bowl, the title was leaked because of “the son of bitches on the internet,” and how people “f**king hated that title“.
Ryan further recalled how he and Shawn Levy contacted everybody from Disney to Marvel, while sitting in an editing room for the title change. While most people said, “Well no guys. It launches tomorrow,’” Disney came to the rescue, and the title was successfully changed.

Throughout the show, both Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman shared their experience of working together, while also putting up a great show for the viewers.
