Sadie Sink Suits Up As Black Cat In Marvel’s ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ Fan Art

With the Marvel Cinematic Universe inching closer to its Phase 6 lineup, excitement for ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ is on a constant rise. Now, new rumors and stunning concept art have sparked speculation about Sadie Sink joining the cast.

The ‘Stranger Things’ breakout star has been imagined as Felicia Hardy, a.k.a. Black Cat, igniting fan discussions and creative fan art across the internet. And if this turns out to be true, the MCU might just be about to get a whole lot more exciting.

As Tom Holland’s Spider-Man returns following the emotional climax of ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’, the stage is set for a brand new chapter. One where Peter Parker is completely alone with no friends, no mentors, and no one who even remembers who he is. This kind of vulnerability opens the door for a lot of new relationships and arcs. And that’s where Black Cat fits in like a lock and key.

What she has with Spider-Man isn’t just a love story, as she’s a morally complex character. Bringing her into the cinematic fold now, with Peter maturing into a young adult vigilante, feels like perfect timing. In the comics, Felicia Hardy’s dynamic with Peter is both electric and emotionally layered. She doesn’t want Spider-Man to take off the mask. She’s drawn to the symbol, the hero, not the boy behind it.

That distinction could offer something refreshingly different from the MJ-Peter dynamic. The film could explore a different kind of chemistry that thrives in the chaos of crime-fighting. And let’s be honest, Sadie Sink in the role makes it that much more exciting. With Zendaya returning as MJ, Black Cat wouldn’t necessarily replace her, but could instead add tension, spark, and narrative complexity to Peter’s love life and hero journey.

Andrew Garfield Has One Strange Condition To Return As Spider-Man

While Tom Holland’s Spider-Man story moves forward, another beloved Spider-Man is teasing his return, but only if things get “very weird.Andrew Garfield, who portrayed Peter Parker in ‘The Amazing Spider-Man’ series and later in ‘No Way Home’, has said he’s open to returning. However, there’s a catch: he wants it to be “unique, offbeat, and surprising.” “I would love to play the character again in some capacity… but I think it would have to be very weird,” he told fans at the Middle East Film and Comi Con.

What does “weird” mean in a universe that already includes multiverses, talking raccoons, and time travel? For Garfield, it’s the kind of storytelling freedom seen in the Spider-Verse animated films. He’s not interested in a typical sequel. He wants something that pushes the character into new territory. This could mean a darker, more introspective arc for Peter Parker or maybe even a multiverse project where different Spider-Men cross over again.

With Sony developing projects around Spider-Man and the MCU fully embracing alternate timelines and universes, the possibilities are virtually endless. And fans would love it. ‘No Way Home’ proved there’s still massive love for Garfield’s Spidey. The actor could easily return alongside Tobey Maguire once again in ‘Brand New Day.’ Even a solo film doesn’t seem that far-fetched.

As ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ moves closer to production, the pieces are falling into place. Whether Sadie Sink is officially playing Black Cat or not, the idea has lit a spark of intrigue and excitement. Pair that with Garfield’s willingness to get weird with his return, and we’re looking at a future where Spider-Man storytelling is never-ending.
