The Marvel Cinematic Universe has been secretly sewing its own history back together, and ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ may be the next move in that direction. The old Netflix Marvel characters have gradually reappeared in the limelight in the last few years.
Daredevil and Kingpin are once again deeply rooted, and ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ is a continuation of their story. However, ‘Brand New Day’s trailer suggests that Marvel may be going further than anticipated, and perhaps even reviving a character that has not been seen in years by fans.
‘Brand New Day’ Could Be The Bridge To A Long-Awaited Return

One of the details that can be singled out in the trailer is The Hand. It’s easy to overlook, but their presence is a big deal. It is not another gang of villains but one of the most dangerous and enigmatic forces that were presented in the Netflix era of Marvel.
The organization was last seen in ‘The Defenders’, and was believed to have been disbanded following a bloody final battle.

So why bring them back now? Since The Hand does not tend to run without a purpose or leadership. Their reemergence implies that something (or someone) has recreated them in the background. And in a city that is already grappling with increased anarchy, their arrival brings a more sinister, more primordial dimension to the world of Spider-Man.
It is also an indication that ‘Brand New Day’ is not merely narrating a street-level story; it is stretching it.
Could This Finally Bring Elektra Back Into MCU?

When The Hand returns, there is one name that immediately pops into the mind, and that is Elektra Natchios. Her destiny has been a question mark for the MCU.
Following the action of The Defenders, she was literally buried under a collapsing building with Matt Murdock. He survived. She may have done. And that maybe is working hard at the moment.

Elektra was not only a part of The Hand, but she turned out to be its most potent weapon, the Black Sky. When we last saw her, she had already taken over the organization. If anyone could rebuild it from the shadows, it’s her.
It would not be fan service to bring her back, but it would make sense to the story. It would reconnect threads left hanging for nearly a decade and create a natural bridge between Spider-Man’s story and Daredevil’s world.
