Sony has yet to fully develop the Spider-Verse world, but one of its fan-favorite characters might be permanently in animation.
Actor Jake Johnson, who voices Peter B. Parker in the celebrated Spider-Verse movies, recently responded to the question of whether his take on the character could ever be brought to life.
Jake Johnson Wants Peter B. Parker To Remain Animated

As a new live-action project, ‘Spider-Noir’, featuring Nicolas Cage, is on the anvil, many fans have been wondering whether other animated Spider-Verse characters can one day follow suit. However, Johnson clarified that he is not especially interested in taking his version of Peter Parker to a live-action environment. Rather, the actor appears to be quite content with maintaining the role in the animated multiverse.

In ‘Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse’, Johnson was the first to present audiences with the scruffy, middle-aged Spider-Man. This Peter B. Parker was not the traditional hero that the audience was accustomed to. He was burned out, divorced from Mary Jane, and trying to find his purpose once again.
His unlikely mentorship of Miles Morales, played by Shameik Moore, became one of the emotional cores of the franchise. By the sequel, ‘Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse’, Peter had reconstructed his life. He reunited with Mary Jane and had even had a baby, Mayday. Although the character is popular, Johnson confessed that he would not accept the opportunity to play the hero in live action.
Still, he said he is excited about the next ‘Spider-Noir’ series, particularly since it will bring him back together with his former co-star in New Girl, Lamorne Morris. The actor also gave some positive news regarding the following animated sequel, stating that the recording of ‘Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse’ has been in progress. Johnson says that the script is good and the audience should have faith in the creative team of the franchise.
The Spider-Verse Franchise Is Only Getting Bigger

Although Johnson may never put on a live-action Spider-Man suit, the Spider-Verse brand itself is not going to slow down. Producers Phil Lord and Christopher Miller have made the animated series one of the most acclaimed superhero franchises of the past ten years.

In addition to the trilogy finale, there are several spinoffs that are said to be in progress. These are a Spider-Women project with characters such as Jessica Drew and Cindy Moon, and a possible Spider-Punk story. Since the Spider-Verse exists in an infinite number of realities, the door is technically open for the appearance of characters like Peter B.
Parker in future stories, even when they remain animated. In the meantime, however, Johnson appears to be happy to leave his interpretation of the character swinging through the multiverse in the place where fans originally fell in love with him: animation.
