Steven Yeun, the acclaimed actor known for his role as Glenn Rhee in ‘The Walking Dead,’ recently expressed interest in joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe. This new major development comes following his earlier departure from one of the MCU’s high-profile projects.
In 2023, Yeun was cast in a major role in ‘Thunderbolts*’, Marvel’s anti-hero team directed by Jake Schreier. As per multiple reports at the time, the actor was set to portray the immensely powerful superhero Sentry (Robert ‘Bob’ Reynolds), and his dark alter-ego known as Void.

“I think for me, time passing and things shifting kind of pulled me out of it,” Yeun explained. “But Jake [Schreier], I know, is going to do an incredible job.” The actor even sent apologies via email and emphasized no hard feelings, highlighting the collaborative nature of the decision.
Despite the setback, Yeun reaffirmed his interest in the MCU. He stated clearly, “I wanna do a Marvel movie.”
Now, even after two years, Yeun confirmed that he is not ruling out a future Marvel role. When asked whether he had watched ‘Thunderbolts*’ and if any significant talks had emerged, he replied, “I did. I love Jake, Jake Schreier, an incredible human director. I did [see it] and I never say never. I’m around.“
