“These Are All Individual Stories”: Kevin Feige Explains Why Concept Of “Superhero Fatigue” Holds No Ground In MCU

The Marvel Cinematic Universe is an expansive one with a variety of characters and their nuances well-defined in comics as well as films and TV shows. It has over time evolved as a large franchise with individual and collaborative superhero films. One might find it overwhelming to start the movie series as the main films are connected. This feeling, in fact, also has a name; it’s called “Superhero fatigue“.

But Marvel head Kevin Feige has come to the viewers’ rescue, with an answer for everyone struggling with it. Feige recently explained that there is no need for homework if one decides to start watching Marvel movies from scratch. Here’s what he said.

Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige recently opened up about the concept of superhero fatigue and explained why there’s no reason for people to feel it. Talking to Phase Zero, Kevin said people willing to watch Marvel films do not need to do any kind of “homework”.

People say superhero fatigue. I think it’s almost the ‘feeling of having to do homework fatigue’. These are all individual stories meant to be enjoyed as singular entities. The connectivity is a bonus — and something that a lot of people like, and I like, and I think it’s one of the singular defining notions of the MCU,” he said during the interview.

Like Feige asserted, Marvel is indeed focusing more on movies based on individual stories like the upcoming ‘Deadpool And Wolverine. With just the basic knowledge about the characters and their backgrounds, one can easily understand the plot of the film.

Marvel Studios has expanded majorly in the past few years. The franchise began withIron Manin 2008 and the ‘Incredible Hulk‘ soon after. Later, movies like ‘Thor: Ragnarok’, ‘Spider-man‘ and ‘Guardians Of The Galaxy‘ were introduced, garnering a massive fanbase for the production company.

The billion-dollar franchise also came up with the biggest hits including ‘Infinity War’ and ‘Endgame’. However, it also saw a significant downfall after these movies in the past few years. The movies that came thereafter didn’t perform well and fans wanted that old Marvel essence back.

In a seeming attempt for damage control, MCU is now coming back with Deadpool And Wolverine’, which is being anticipated to be the biggest Marvel hit of the year. The movie is a single release and is ready to be premiered in less than a week.
