Tom Holland, the beloved actor who brought Spider-Man to life in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, has expressed his desire to introduce Miles Morales, another iconic Spider-Man character, into his universe.
Holland, who is currently gearing up for the release of ‘Spider-Man 4’, revealed that he is excited about the future of the franchise. While the upcoming film will primarily focus on Peter Parker, Holland is more interested in exploring the potential for other Spider-Men to join his timeline.
Tom Holland Seeks To Mentor The Next Spider-Man
In an interview on the Rich Roll podcast, Tom Holland reminisced about his early days in the MCU. He talked about his debut as Spider-Man in ‘Captain America: Civil War’. He recalled feeling overwhelmed and intimidated by the presence of seasoned actors like Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johansson, and Chris Evans.

However, Holland found a mentor and supporter in Downey Jr. RDJ guided him through the challenges of being a newcomer in the industry. He insisted that Holland get more lines in their scenes and advocated for him to have a stronger presence. Holland’s experience with Downey Jr. has inspired him to become a mentor to younger actors.
“If I’d be lucky enough to somehow bring Miles Morales into my Spider-Man universe and into the MCU, I’d love to do for a young kid what Downey did for me,” Holland said. Moreover, the introduction of Miles Morales into the MCU would be a significant milestone for the franchise.

The Spider-Man actor also revealed his desire to pass the torch of the iconic character to a younger actor before he turns 30. Inspired by his own experiences with Robert Downey Jr., Holland hopes to mentor and support the next generation of Spider-Man.

Holland has often spoken about his initial fear and intimidation when acting alongside Downey Jr., However, he found a mentor and supporter in Downey Jr., “Downey was adamant that most of my takes were used in the final version of the Russo brothers’ film,” Holland recalled in an interview with Esquire Middle East.
Inspired by Downey Jr.’s mentorship, Holland has expressed his desire to be a similar role model for a younger actor. “If I am 30 and still playing Spider-Man and I haven’t passed on the baton to a Miles Morales or a Spider-Woman or something more diverse, then I will have done something wrong in the sense of duties that I have to the character,” Holland said.
