The MCU is gearing up for a new chapter in the life of Peter Parker. Additionally, Tom Holland’s much-anticipated ‘Spider-Man 4’ is set to take a fresh direction under ‘Shang-Chi’ director Destin Daniel Cretton.

According to recent insider reports, the film will introduce a brand-new supporting cast. This is reportedly signaling a soft reboot for the beloved character and a shift in tone.

One of the most significant revelations about ‘Spider-Man 4’ is that Peter Parker’s longtime best friend, Ned Leed, will not be returning. The movie is expected to introduce a new friend for Peter, further underscoring the film’s fresh take.

While details remain scarce, insider Daniel Richtman has reported that the casting grids describe the upcoming film as a reinvention of the character. It will give fans a different dynamic compared to the previous trilogy. Additionally, fans will see a shift in Peter’s romantic life.

Zendaya’s Michelle “MJ” Jones is expected to make only a brief cameo, primarily due to the actress’s busy schedule. Reports suggest that Peter’s new love interest could be none other than Black Cat. However, no official casting has been announced. Perhaps even more exciting, an A-list actor has been offered the role of the film’s main villain.

In an interview with GQ, Cox shared his enthusiasm for potentially appearing in major MCU films, including ‘Avengers: Doomsday‘ and ‘Spider-Man 4’. “I would love to be in one of the Avengers films, or another Spider-Man, or something like that,” Cox said. “For a couple of reasons. One, because over the years I have become a geeky fan of the character, and I weirdly feel like it’d be really cool for him to get that kind of upgrade.

Cox’s Daredevil made his MCU debut in ‘No Way Home’, but only in his civilian identity. Since then, he has reprised his role in several series. Now, he is set to appear in the upcoming ‘Daredevil: Born Again’, a Disney+ continuation of his Netflix series.

Moreover, Cox acknowledged that starring in an Avengers film or another Spider-Man installment would likely help him land more major movie roles. “It would be nice to show that I can lead a film, that I can be part of a big ensemble cast in a major blockbuster.”
