The Marvel Cinematic Universe is officially entering a new chapter for everyone’s favorite web-slinger. ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ has officially started filming, and thanks to Sony Pictures Entertainment, fans got an inside look at Tom Holland’s first day back on set.
The video not only highlights the excitement surrounding Peter Parker’s fresh start but also reveals something that Spider-Man movies have never done before: welcoming fans to the set on day one of shooting.
Tom Holland Shares Spider-Man’s “Fresh Start” With Fans

The new video opens with Holland, suited up in Spider-Man’s costume from the end of ‘No Way Home’, addressing how this installment will feel different from his earlier solo outings. “It’s also the first time we’ve ever had fans on set for day one,” Holland revealed. “So it’s really exciting to share this with them.” The clip shows Holland mingling with kids dressed as Spider-Man, taking photos, and celebrating the hero who has meant so much to generations of fans.

It’s a rare sight as Marvel productions are notoriously secretive. However, inviting fans into such an early stage of filming underlines just how special ‘Brand New Day’ is intended to be. For Holland, this movie represents a turning point. ‘No Way Home’ left Peter Parker completely isolated after Doctor Strange erased all memories of Peter’s identity from everyone’s minds.

In ‘Brand New Day’, Peter isn’t the Avenger balancing cosmic threats or the “kid mentored by Tony Stark.” Instead, he’s back to his roots. Kevin Feige himself confirmed that this Spider-Man film will focus on street-level crime, not galaxy-shattering battles. “We are seeing for the first time in the Tom Holland Spider-Man stories, him being a proper Spider-Man,” Feige explained.
“Him being, by himself, dedicated to saving the city, and dealing with, for lack of a better term, street-level crime as opposed to world-ending events that he faced when working with the other characters.” This grounding of Peter’s story resonates deeply with fans. However, don’t mistake “street-level” for simple. With characters like Scorpion returning, the Punisher joining the mix, and teases of Mister Negative’s Inner Demons, the stakes are still plenty high.
Zendaya’s First Leaked Look In ‘Brand New Day’ Hints At Something Very Emotional

If Holland’s on-set fan celebration wasn’t enough, another wave of excitement hit when new set photos revealed Zendaya’s return as MJ. Ever since ‘No Way Home’ ended with her character having no memory of Peter, fans have been aching to know if and how their love story would continue. Thanks to photos captured by @justbuzz.exe, audiences got their first glimpse of MJ alongside Peter at a cemetery.

The two are visiting Aunt May’s grave, following her heartbreaking death in ‘No Way Home’. The images quickly went viral, with fans speculating about whether MJ is there for her own reasons or if fate has brought her back into Peter’s orbit once again. The bittersweet setting makes the reunion all the more poignant. Holland’s Peter Parker is still processing the loss of his aunt, while Zendaya’s MJ seems unaware of the history they once shared.
Reports suggest Zendaya’s role in ‘Brand New Day’ may be smaller compared to her appearances in Holland’s first trilogy. However, that doesn’t mean she won’t have an important impact. Fans are already speculating that the cemetery meeting might hint at a future rekindling of their connection.
