Additionally, he believes fans should brace themselves for unexpected twists. “Anything on our show is, nine out of 10 times, leading to something that’s even bigger and crazier,” he teased. “For Fisk, this journey is a path to more control.” The trailer also teases a heated confrontation between Fisk and Matt Murdock.
It suggests that Fisk’s mayoral ambitions may be the catalyst for Daredevil’s return. In one standout moment, Murdock accuses Fisk of “gaming the system” to secure the election. For D’Onofrio, Fisk’s arc in Born Again is about more than just becoming mayor.
While he remained tight-lipped about the specifics, the actor promised that fans could expect plenty of surprises. Moreover, the ‘Born Again’ storyline takes place several years after the events of Daredevil Season 3 and follows a more action-driven narrative than originally planned.
Charlie Cox Explains Why His Interactions With Kingpin/Wilson Fisk Were Limited In The Show
While Vincent D’Onofrio and Charlie Cox both made their MCU debuts in 2021 with their respective cameos, this marks the first time they’ll share the screen since the Netflix series concluded in 2018. That said, the creators are treading carefully to preserve the impact of their shared moments.

Charlie Cox explained that keeping the encounters between Daredevil and Kingpin rare makes their eventual confrontations more explosive. “I believe you have to be really careful when and how you bring these two people into the same room,” Cox told EW.
“When they meet, it’s an unstoppable force meeting an immovable object. It has to feel like it could and will explode. The more you bring us together without consequence, the less that illusion holds.” Cox revealed that he even pushed back on a draft of the script that included an additional scene between the two characters.
“I said, ‘I worry that if you tell the story where we can have a conversation and walk away from it at this stage, we lose a lot of stakes,’” he shared. Ultimately, the creative team found a way to maintain the tension, ensuring that each interaction is as powerful as it is meaningful.
