Jac Schaeffer, the head writer and executive producer of ‘WandaVision’ and its spin-off ‘Agatha All Along’, has revealed a surprising detail about the show’s original ending. In a recent interview, she confirmed another sorcerer who was to show up in the show.
While talking to Variety about ‘Agatha All Along‘s finale, Jac revealed that Doctor Strange was to appear in a post-credit cameo scene for ‘Wandavision’. However, the plan was sadly scrapped.
Wanda Forced Doctor Strange To Show Up In ‘WandaVision’s Alternate Ending
‘WandaVision’ concluded with a bittersweet ending that saw Wanda Maximoff confronting the consequences of her actions. After creating the idyllic town of Westview, she realized the harm she had caused and willingly sacrificed herself to dismantle the Hex. Now, Jac Schaeffer reveals that Doctor Strange was originally intended to make a cameo appearance in a post-credits scene.

“It’s Wanda sitting on the porch of that cabin, and she’s rocking peacefully. And you know how Strange can do those circles around someone, and make them go somewhere? The circle starts around her like she’s going to be teleported somewhere, and she stops it, so Strange has to show up in person,” Schaeffer explained.
This alternate ending would have directly connected ‘WandaVision’ to the broader Marvel Cinematic Universe. Additionally, it would’ve set the stage for future storylines involving Wanda Maximoff. However, the idea was ultimately scrapped, leaving fans to speculate about the potential implications of such a crossover.
Moreover, the series finale was a perfect exploration of grief, loss, and the complexities of love. It offered a satisfying conclusion to Wanda’s arc while also leaving room for future possibilities. While the original plan for a Doctor Strange cameo may have been scrapped, the show’s ending in itself was satisfactory.
Marvel Also Decided Against Including Post-Credit Scenes For ‘Agatha All Along’
Jac Schaeffer also revealed that she had written multiple post-credits scenes for the ‘Agatha All Along.’ However, just like with ‘Wandavision‘, Marvel ultimately decided against including them. “I wrote a number of tags… They’re so fun to write because you’re writing the promise without having to deliver on anything,” Schaeffer shared.

“And I was told that we weren’t going to do a tag on this show,” she added. While the reason for this decision remains unclear, it’s possible that Marvel wanted to maintain a clear focus on the main storyline and avoid setting up future plot points that might not be immediately addressed.
Despite the lack of a post-credits scene, ‘Agatha All Along’s finale has left fans with plenty to speculate about. The show’s final moments, with Agatha returning as a ghost to guide Billy Maximoff, open up exciting possibilities for future appearances.
