Kevin Feige On Introducing New Characters In The MCU
Feige spoke about how acquiring the X-Men along with othe characters allowed for new creative opportunities. “Now as we choose upcoming storylines, we don’t have to [cut any characters], and we have access to all of them,” Feige said. This gives Marvel the ability to feature any characters they want without restrictions.
Feige also hinted that MCU’s X-Men team lineup will include both familiar faces and newcomers never before seen in films. Fan favourites like Wolverine, Storm and Cyclops could feature alongside lesser-known mutants with breakout potential like Warpath, Dazzler, Angel etc.
The MCU will aim to capture the complex relationships and melodrama that have long been part of the X-Men lore. This tone will help differentiate the X-Men from other Marvel ensembles when they are eventually introduced post-Avengers 5.

Integrating Fantastic Four
While the X-Men may debut in the near future, Feige expects the Fantastic Four to be a longer term prospect. He has singled out Reed Richards and Doctor Doom as particularly important characters done right.
Whenever the Fantastic Four do appear, they will no doubt play a pivotal role in the ever expanding science fiction realm of the MCU. The foundations are now in place for Marvel’s first family to truly shine on the big screen for the first time, and for the era of Mutants to steer forward after the Multiverse Saga wraps up.
