Anthony and Joe Russo have had enough of MCU being slandered. In their interview with ‘The New Yorker,‘ they finally responded to Quentin Tarantino’s continuous disregard of Marvel movies. They believe Quentin Tarantino’s “relationship to the source material” has likely influenced his opinion of the Marvel movies.
Anthony Russo gives insight into Tarantino’s crusade against the superhero movie, “I don’t know if Quentin feels like he was born to make a Marvel movie, which is maybe why he would feel like a hired hand doing it. It depends on your relationship to the source material,” Joe Russo adds, “What fulfills us the most is building a sense of community around our work.”

Quentin Tarantino’s Views About Marvel Movies
Quentin Tarantino is one of the names that has repeatedly expressed his dislike of the billion-dollar franchise. He doesn’t “hate” the Marvel movies but is put off because these are the only studio-created movies people now care about. Currently prepping his final movie, ‘The Film Critic,’ he also bemoans the loss of the movie star culture.
Quentin Tarantino went into great detail about what irks him about the current film culture, “You have all these actors who have become famous playing these characters. But they’re not movie stars. Right? Captain America is the star. Or Thor is the star. I mean, I’m not the first person to say that. I think that’s been said a zillion times…but it’s like, you know, it’s these franchise characters that become a star.”
