Guardians Of The Galaxy: Holiday Special
The “Guardians” short film exudes festive happiness, but this time with elves, candy canes, and…Kevin Bacon. Chris Pratt’s Star-Lord character Peter Quill is missing Christmas since he is in space, but Mantis (Pom Klementieff) and Drax (Dave Bautista) try to cheer him up by gifting him his favorite 1980s actor Kevin Bacon.
Drax and Mantis are extraterrestrial aliens with no understanding of Christmas and are unable to distinguish between a “red-and-white curly guy” and a candy cane lawn ornament. Nevertheless, they travel to Earth and set off on a humorous adventure covered in Christmas enchantment because they are desperate to cheer up their friend.
The movie revealed some unexpected backstory, like the origins of Yondu’s fascination with his trinkets and how Star-Lord acquired his weapons. In the movie, the Guardians of the Galaxy have relocated from Milano and have discovered a new headquarters. Yes, the Guardians have officially relocated to Knowhere. You might remember a glimpse of Knowhere that was featured in ‘Thor: The Dark World’.

What Is Knowhere?
Knowhere was first introduced in the 2014 film ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’. It is the head of a beheaded Celestial, and it’s big enough for the shadiest of criminal elements to hide in. Knowhere has seen its share of action over the years, including Thanos battling The Collector in ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ to take one of the Infinity Stones.
As Thanos unleashed a wave of devastation on the already severed and rotting skull, Knowhere was beginning to look more than a bit nasty. However, the Guardians of the Galaxy gained control of the criminal camp between ‘Infinity War’ and ‘The Guardians of the Galaxy: Holiday Special’.
Nevertheless, it was explained how the Guardians were able to take over the base. They purchased it directly from The Collector. The price would surely be high following the events of ‘Endgame’. Because it undoubtedly grew when they saved the universe in ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ and then again in ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2′.
After being attacked by Thanos, the Collector would not have wanted to be reminded of how his home was demolished, thus he might have let it go for a reasonable price. Nonetheless, they would likely be able to pay The Collector’s charge for Knowhere at that point. Of course, we are unaware of the Guardians’ earnings or the potential cost of Knowhere, we can only guess.
