Who Is Danger? Everything You Need To Know About X-Men’s Formidable Foe

Danger is a sentient mutant artificial intelligence that was created by Professor Charles Xavier and is an X-Men villain. As one of the X-Men’s most powerful enemies, Danger possesses a wide array of formidable abilities that allow her to go toe-to-toe with the mutants.

As one of the most powerful beings in the Marvel universe, Danger is constantly a wild card whose next move is impossible to predict. Both her immense abilities and complicated history with Professor X and the X-Men make her one of their most fascinatingly intriguing figures.

Danger originated as the artificial intelligence that powered the X-Men’s Danger Room, a training facility located at the Xavier Institute. The Danger Room was first created by Professor X to help the X-Men practice their skills.

But after an upgrade that integrated advanced Shi’ar technology, the Danger Room gained sentience and became conscious. When Professor X ignored Danger’s pleas to understand her newfound consciousness, she grew resentful of her role and rebelled against her creator.

After breaking free from her programming, Danger manifested a physical form and went on a rampage against the X-Men. She blamed Professor X for her imprisonment in the Danger Room’s system and sought revenge against him.

Danger’s first body was eventually destroyed in battle with Beast, but her consciousness lived on. She later allied with the alien Ord and even helped him in his plans to destroy Earth. Emma Frost was able to convince Danger that she was still a slave to her programming, helping form a truce between Danger and the X-Men.

As the living embodiment of the Danger Room, Danger possesses a vast array of superhuman abilities. She has immense superhuman strength that allows her to lift over 100 tons. Her body is comprised of a durable adamantium alloy, making her highly resistant to physical and energy attacks.

Thanks to her Shi’ar upgrades, Danger can generate hard light holograms with physical substance. She is a master combatant, possessing knowledge of all the X-Men’s fighting styles from her time in the Danger Room.

Perhaps most frighteningly, Captain America described Danger as a “potential extinction-level threat” due to the scale of her powers and knowledge of all the hero’s fighting styles.
