Is Marvel’s Focus On Multiverse Saga The Reason Behind ‘Blade’, ‘Armor Wars’, And ‘Nova’ Getting Delayed?

One of the most highly anticipated projects in the Marvel Cinematic Universe has been the ‘Blade’ reboot, starring Mahershala Ali in the role. However, this project has faced significant delays and uncertainties, and its future remains unclear.

Alongside Ali’s ‘Blade’ there are several other films that have been stuck in the MCU’s development hell. However, now insider AlexFromCC reveals that it might be due to Marvel’s focus on the Multiverse Saga that is causing the delays.

Originally announced in 2019, the ‘Blade’ reboot was met with great enthusiasm from fans. Mahershala Ali seemed like the perfect choice to bring the iconic vampire hunter to life. However, the project has been plagued by production issues and creative differences.

In 2022, Marvel Studios announced that ‘Blade’ would be delayed indefinitely. Moreover, no official reason was given. However, according to Marvel Insider the film was delayed because the story did not fit into the studio’s plans for the Multiverse Saga.

Another MCU project that has faced delays and uncertainties is ‘Armor Wars’. This series, starring Don Cheadle as James Rhodes, was originally announced as a Disney+ show in 2020. However, Marvel Studios announced that the project would be adapted into a feature film.

The shift from series to the film has likely contributed to the delays in ‘Armor Wars’. Additionally, the SAG-AFTRA strike has further impacted production in addition to the shift in focus towards the multiverse saga. Additionally, ‘Nova’ has also faced significant delays. This series, which was announced in 2020, has been stuck in development limbo for several years.

Marvel Studios is reportedly nearing a crucial decision concerning the future ‘Blade’ and ‘Armor Wars’, revealed another Marvel Insider DanielRPK. Additionally, for the ‘Blade’ reboot, starring Mahershala Ali, the potential cancellation could be a double-edged sword.

While disappointing for those eager to see Ali’s take on the character, it might open the door for a different approach. Moreover, with the recent success of ‘Deadpool and Wolverine’, Marvel might want to bring back Wesley Snipes’ ‘Blade.’

On the flip side, cancellation for ‘Armor Wars’, the James Rhodes/War Machine project, would likely mean no standalone story for the character. His only potential appearances might be in the upcoming ‘Vision’ series.  This lack of solo projects concerns fans who have launched a petition on Change.org to prevent ‘Armor Wars‘ cancellation.

So far, the petition has garnered over 118 signatures, showcasing the desire for War Machine’s story. Moreover, the coming months will be pivotal for both projects. Will Blade get a fresh start with a different vision? Or will Armor Wars receive the green light, giving War Machine his own solo adventure? Only time will tell.
