Zendaya Settles Spider-Man vs Batman Debate While Robert Pattinson Holds Back

In Short
  • Zendaya confidently declared Spider-Man the winner in the superhero debate.
  • Robert Pattinson hesitated to choose a winner due to contractual obligations.
  • The discussion highlighted the physical advantages Spider-Man has over Batman.

An interview question that was as basic as what is your favorite superhero, resulted in a full-fledged superhero debate when Zendaya and Robert Pattinson were asked the ultimate crossover question: Who would win in a fight, Spider-Man or Batman?

Although this has been argued by fans over the years, the reactions of the actors gave the discussion a new twist. And it all felt very human.

Zendaya didn’t hesitate. Her response was fast, and frankly, it was what the majority of the population is likely to be thinking. “Does he have superpowers?” she asked Ladbible. Spider-Man possesses superpowers, like increased strength, agility, reflexes, and the all-important spider-sense. Batman, brilliant as he is, is still a human being.

Her response was not presented in the manner of a hardcore comic book breakdown. It felt natural, almost like a debate you would have with your friends. And she is not mistaken. The physical advantages of Spider-Man are difficult to disregard in a straight-up fight. He is quicker, stronger, and able to actually foresee danger before it strikes.

It is the type of advantage that makes any battle seem a bit unjustified. However, it was not only the logic that made Zendaya stand out, but also the confidence. No hedging, no overthinking. No overthinking, no hedging. Just a clear answer in a debate that usually spirals into endless “what ifs.”

Pattinson, however, was in a more complex situation. Being the actor behind Batman, it is not that easy to choose a winner, particularly when there are contracts and fan demands at stake. His hesitation was telling, but also entertaining. “I mean, the thing he has is like superpowers, right?” He recognized the powers of Spider-Man, and he was well aware of the argument.

Yet, he did not go further to provide a conclusive response.  Rather, he tipped his hat to humor, saying that he cannot say because it is contractually impossible. The discussion even went with them to The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, where the question was re-asked. Pattinson reiterated his cautious approach. “We keep getting asked who would win the fight? Spiderman or Batman? I’m like, I’m like, legally not allowed to say,” he said.
