Amy Adams is teaming up with 20th Century Studio to produce and star in a comedy titled ‘Lazy Susans‘. The film will be based on the Boston mom-band, ‘The Lazy Susans’. Meanwhile, Amy is scheduled to star in the premiere of the dark comedy, ‘Nightbitch’, at the Toronto International Film Festival on 7 September 2024.
Homely drama-comedies of Amy have become a household staple for whether familial festivities or stay-in-bed days. However, ‘Nightbitch’ seems a break from the actor’s usual genre. The horror comedy revolves around how a run-of-the-mill mother’s domesticity takes a dark turn. The film will be released in cinemas on 6 December 2024.
Preliminary Details Of ‘Lazy Susan’ Production
‘Lazy Susan’ is still under initial wraps and many preliminary decisions are not settled yet. However, Amy and Stacy O’Neil plan to produce the film through their production company, Bond Group Entertainment. ‘Lazy Susans’ is inspired by the Boston band that was formed during the COVID-19 pandemic, conspiring of moms. Interestingly, these moms have no experience in music.

Deadline reports screenwriters, Annie Mumolo and Stan Chervin are charged with writing the script of the film. Both have been nominated for Academy Awards. On the other hand, Admas is currently preparing for the premiere of ‘Nightbitch’. The plot of domesticity turned psychotic chaos is appealing to the horror ear. In the trailer for the film, Amy throws a fit in a feral state in her kitchen.
Who Are ‘The Lazy Susans’?
Many in the COVID-19 pandemic went eccentric but these five moms from Massachusetts, Boston went electric. Five domestic mothers, including Joanna Weiss, banded up to create ‘The Lazy Susans’. Their website describes them as simple domestics who had no musical experience. However, after playing in Milton Porchfest for two months, the band appeared on national television.

The band claims that singers like Liz Phair and Lizzo have inspired them to write. Moreover, the moms rouse other domestics to follow the paths to pursue music. Joanna Weiss was a writer. However, the pandemic gave Weiss a chance to reconnect with her talent. The band titles their songs as ‘Chapter’ followed by their respective number. We could expect Adams to play one of the mom rockstars yet no details have been announced.
