Two of the biggest films of the year, ‘Barbie‘ and ‘Oppenheimer‘ and battling against each other at the 2024 Oscars. But the scene isn’t as tense as what fans of both the films think.
On stage, stars of both the films, Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt showed up to exchange an adorable roast on the films’ rivalry and the whole ‘Barbenheimer’ phenomena.
Emily Blunt And Ryan Gosling Roast ‘Barbenheimer’
The stars of ‘Barbie‘ and ‘Oppenheimer‘ showed up on stage to honor stunt performers and ended up addressing the whole ‘Barbenheimer’ rivalry, in the most hilarious way.
“I’m just happy that we can finally put this ‘Barbenheimer’ rivalry aside,” Gosling said to Blunt.
“I figured out why they call it ‘Barbenheimer’ and they didn’t call it ‘Oppenbarbie.’ I think you guys are the tail end of that cause you were riding Barbie’s coattails all summer.”

To which she replied, “The way this award season has turned out, it wasn’t that much of a rivalry. Just let it go!,” as a playful jab at how ‘Oppenheimer’ bagged more nominations.
“It’s true. You guys are doing very well, you know? Congratulations,” Gosling said about ‘Oppenheimer’s success, “But I think I kind of figured out why it’s called ‘Barbenheimer’ and not ‘Oppenarbie.’ You’re on the tail end because you rode ‘Barbie’s’ coattails all summer” referring to ‘Barbie’s box office success.
“Thanks for Kens-plaining that to me, all right,” Blunt retorted, “Mr. I need to paint my abs on to get nominated! You don’t see Robert Downey doing that.”

‘Barbie’ Vs ‘Oppenheimer’ At The Oscars
Both the actors are battling against each other’s films for a few nominations as Oppenheimer led the race- something that garnered significant online bashing from fans.
While Greta Gerwig’s film is nominated for eight awards, including Best Supporting Actor and Actress for Ryan Gosling and America Ferrerra, and Best Picture, Oppenheimer is up form13 nominations, two of which the film has already won.
Fans are now anticipating on who takes home the ‘Best Picture’ award, and ofcoure, Ryan Gosling’s highly awaited ‘I’m Just Ken’ performance.
