Looks like Hollywood hasn’t had enough of the ‘Blair Witch’ clout. The word on around the beach town is that Lionsgate is shaking hands with Blumhouse to bring back the long-dead Witch of the cult classic horror film ‘Blair Witch’ from the year 1999.
This revolutionary horror movie made a box office profit of $248 million along with influencing countless theories and legends. The 1999 film naturally branched out and now has many sequels and branched-out franchises along with a Las Vegas escape room based on it.
The big cinema houses of Hollywood have now announced their plans to reboot the 1999 cult classic ‘Blair Witch’ this Wednesday. This new generation needs to know what real thrill is, and Lionsgate’s new partnership with Blumhouse has taken the responsibility.
The cult classic is in safe hands as Jason Blum is hitching a ride with producer Roy Lee. Now the fans of the franchise know that Roy Lee is familiar with the project on hand as she’s previously worked on 2016’s ‘Blair Witch’.

The New ‘Blair Witch’ Project Will Offer A New Creative Vision
The OG ‘Blair Witch’ from 1999 with its found footage style was ahead of its time. But chair of the Lionsgate studios, Adam Fogelson from Lionsgate has revealed that their creative team has a new vision in mind. In a press release, Fogelson revealed that they’re, “thrilled to kick this partnership off with a new vision for Blair Witch that will reintroduce this horror classic for a new generation.”
Whereas the second partner added to Adam’s statement, saying, “I’m very grateful to Adam and the team at Lionsgate for letting us play in their sandbox. I’m a huge admirer of The Blair Witch Project, which brought the idea of found footage horror to mainstream audiences and became a true cultural phenomenon.”
“ I don’t think there would have been a Paranormal Activity had there not first been a Blair Witch, so this feels like a truly special opportunity and I’m excited to see where it leads,” they added.
