Blake Lively has been under fire ever for promoting her movie ‘It Ends With Us’ in an allegedly insensitive spirit. Fans have been unhappy with the marketing strategy she adopted despite the film being a serious one. There were also feuds between the cast members, particularly between Justin Baldoni and Blake Lively.
The members of the cast have issued various statements about the reception the film got from fans, particularly defending Blake Lively, who has seen an active hate train against her. Blake’s brother in law Bart Johnson has now joined the roster as he issued a statement defending her. Here’s what he said.
Bart Johnson Defends Blake Lively On Social Media
Posting a video tribute to Blake Lively for her birthday, Bart Johnson wished the actress via social media and soon, comments slamming the actress started flooding in. Most of these talked about Blake and her ways of marketing the film.
One user wrote, “Shame she’s so set on promoting happiness in a domestic violence setting without any regard for any victims. Disappointing from Blake.”
To which Bart replied, “I’m really sorry you feel that way. I’m sure you have a huge heart and want the best. I can promise you the truth has not come out yet. Blake worked harder on this film than anything I’ve seen her do my entire life. Because it meant so much to her.”
He continued, “The message is in the book. And in the movie. Not in short clips / interviews. She is the reason the message / this movie/ is getting out. Were mistakes made? Yes. I make mistakes in life. But they aren’t under a microscope. Anyway, I respect your views. I got nothing but love for you.”

Why Is Blake Lively Getting Hate From Fans?
Many fans pointed out that Blake Lively’s style of promoting the film was tone deaf and rendered the deep issues of the film as something minimal. She urged fans to wear floral dresses to the movies, and ‘have fun’ with their girls. Many pointed out that it was a weird statement to make about a film about domestic violence.
And her hair care brand launch. I thought it was a romcom until I saw a tiktok about it!! The marketing strategy is certainly a choice.

Apart from that, many also pointed out that she would sneak in references to her new hair care brand. In fact, many wrote about how she promoted her hair care brand more than she promoted the movie.
Many also complained that she failed to address any of the more serious issues attached to the film and mostly promoted the film as a bubbly romantic comedy.
Blake has not yet spoken up about the hate train.
