Bradley Cooper Completely Transforms His Look To Play Leonard Bernstein In ‘Maestro’

Bradley Cooper is a renowned actor and director as well. The actor won two Grammy Awards. He also helmed The Oscar-winning movie “A Star Is Born”. Cooper acted in the movie alongside Lady Gaga. The song “Shallow” from the film also received an Oscar. In total, the movie earned 8 Oscar nominations. After his huge success as a director, it looks like Bradley Cooper doesn’t want to leave the director’s chair. He is now working on the movie “Maestro” which is a biography of musical producer Leonard Bernstein. For the same, he has completely transformed his look.

Bradley Cooper As Leonard Bernstein

The “Silver Linings Playbook” actor takes back the directorial chair for the Netflix movie “Maestro”. The movie started filming this month. Bradley Cooper has already told the fans that the movie will release in 2023. He is co-directing the movie with Steven Spielberg. After achieving success with“A Star Is Born”, Bradley didn’t want to leave the role of a director.

A recent Twitter post shows the actor’s new look as the lead character of the movie – Leonard Bernstein. Cooper nails the look of the famous Broadway composer. He is starring opposite Carey Mulligan in the film. She is playing Bernstein’s wife Felicia Montealegre. The snapshots uploaded feature the composer at different ages. Especially, the look which is worthy of mention is Cooper’s look as the elderly Bernstein.

Scott Stuber, the head of global films at Netflix, told Variety before the movie started shooting that “We’ve done a lot of work on the makeup. We’ve done a lot of work on the voice. I’m excited to see someone so deeply focused on creating a story that means so much to him. And Carey Mulligan is an incredible actress.”

It all began when Steven Spielberg approached Cooper to act in the movie “Maestro”. But after his debut as a director in 2018, he was more interested in the role of writing and directing a movie rather than just acting even if it meant doing so for Spielberg. He told Spielberg, “‘I always felt like I could play a conductor, but may I research the material and see if I can write it and direct it? Would you let me do that?’” Cooper said. “Steven has a lot of interests — he’ll just choose one thing and all of the other things will be on hold. I think he knew he wasn’t going to make that movie for a while. He was kind enough to hand it off to me, and that’s what I’ve been doing for the last four and a half years.”

Director Martin Scorsese is producing the upcoming film.
