In her latest interview with Extra, Emily Blunt said that Cillian Murphy had to follow a strict diet to change himself to J. Robert Oppenheimer, the central character of ‘Oppenheimer.’
Blunt stated, “He had such a monumental understanding. And he could only eat, like, an almond every day. He was so emaciated.” In another interview, Cillian Murphy addressed his weight loss for the character and said: “I love acting with my body, and Oppenheimer had a very distinct physicality and silhouette, which I wanted to get right.”
Murphy said at the time that he lost a lot of weight and added that his dieting schedule is not safe for anyone and should not be followed at the same time.

All About Cillian Murphy’s Role As Oppenheimer
Cillian Murphy will portray J. Robert Oppenheimer, a theoretical physicist and the director of the Los Alamos Laboratory during the Second World War. He is known as the father of the atomic bomb and for his involvement in the research and development that led to the creation of nuclear weapons.
Murphy is collaborating with Christopher Nolan for the sixth time and Murphy once said that he read a lot about J. Robert Oppenheimer for his preparation. The overall casting process was very secretive and most of the actors were unaware of what they would be portraying.
