OMG! Thor has another brother and as hard as fans might find it to believe, it’s completely true. Apparently, he is the older half-brother of Thor named Balder the Brave. Recently, ‘Doctor Strange 2’ costume designer shed some light on this brother of Thor.
According to the designer, Balder could have been the seventh member of the Illuminati. But due to some inner reasons the character could not be featured in the movie. Know all about what he had to say about why the brother of Thor didn’t make the cut.
‘Doctor Strange 2’ Designer Revealed It All About Thor’s Second Brother
The ‘Doctor Strange 2’ costume designer Graham Churchyard was a guest on the ‘Phase Zero’ podcast from Comicbook. He talked about the reasons why Balder the Brave didn’t make the cut. Apparently the YouTube Channel Heavy Spoilers previously showed a deleted scene of Balder. According to Churchyard, his costume design was almost over.
He said, “We got very far designing Balder the Brave and then we were waiting, and waiting, and waiting on casting. I took it to a prototype stage, we were kind of in that design thing, getting fabrics together and ideas and waiting for an actor.”
Apparently, they were going to cast Daniel Craig but it didn’t happen. Churchyard also said “Poor Balder the Brave, he almost made Thor 1, and Thor 2, and Thor 3, if I can simplify that. Then, it’s just like, ‘Yay! He’s gonna get an appearance!’ Poor guy. I’ve seen designs Marvel’s archive book of Balder’s helmet going back to Kenneth Branagh’s Thor. So, he’s been a long time waiting and I don’t think he’s gonna make an appearance any time soon.”

Fans were shocked at this news and voiced out in Twitter. One fan wrote “How many brother and sisters does Thor have.. just tell me for once”. Another fan wrote, “Love Balder in the comics but I’m not sure I’d have put him in MoM anyway so I think it was the right move. Seems like an odd place to introduce him, even if it’s a variant. Hope he arrives soon, though.”
