Closure can come from the unlikeliest of places and in the unlikeliest of times. A Florence Pugh fan did not know what would hit her when she began watching, ‘We Live in Time’. However, by the end of the film she was left in tears.
‘We Live in Time’ is a romantic comedy that revolves around the intense love story of Almut and Tobias. Pugh and Andrew Garfield star in the film. Unfortunately, Almut is diagnosed with cancer. Pugh’s fan related to Almut’s plot and after the film finished, she poured her heart out to the actor.

‘We Live in Time’ was released in the USA on October 18. An Instagram user, named sophietemple21, shared her mother had similar experiences as Almut in the film. She commented on Pugh’s post, ”My mom was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer when I was 2, given 6 months to live. she stuck it out through 4 years of chemo and drugs and treatment to give me a chance at remembering her, and she passed when I was 6.”
She continued, “I wasn’t sure I’d be able to watch due to the direct parallels to my own trauma – I went on my day off on friday, watched it in a fully empty theater with my mom’s stuffed animal and a box of tissues, and god I’m so glad I did.”
Praising Pugh she added, “You captured every emotion my mom felt so beautifully. I only have a couple journal entries left of her, so god, Florence, your performance is such a gift.” She concluded her note with, “I was so little, so sheltered, i didn’t understand what she was experiencing. getting to witness it thru this film – i just can’t express my gratitude enough.”

In response to such generous words, Florence Pugh replied to her admirer. She wrote, “Hello Sophie. Florence here. Just wanted to say thank you for taking the time to write your heart here in the comments. It goes without saying that I am incredibly sorry for your loss, especially at such a young age.”

‘We Live in Time‘ will be available for streaming on Max after its theatrical run, later this year.
