Hayden Christensen recently shared a sweet and funny moment that has left ‘Star Wars‘ fans both amused and touched. Despite having fans all over the world, there’s one person he seemingly can’t impress: his own daughter.
The actor, best known for playing Anakin Skywalker and his transformation into Darth Vader, revealed at a recent fan event that his daughter has no interest in watching his films, and the reason is as simple as it is adorable.
The Emotional Reason Hayden Christensen’s Daughter Avoids Darth Vader

Christensen, 45, has been part of the Star Wars universe since 2002’s ‘Attack of the Clones.’ His portrayal of the young Jedi who turns to the dark side made him a global star.
However, at home, things are very different. He shares his 11-year-old daughter, Briar Rose, with his ex-partner, Rachel Bilson. While Briar knows her dad is famous for ‘Star Wars,’ she has no interest in watching the films.
Christensen explained why: “She knows I play a significant character. She hasn’t seen the movies yet, really. I tried to get her to watch it a few times. I think it’s because she knows I play the character who turns into Darth Vader, and she knows Darth Vader is a bad guy and doesn’t want to see her dad as a bad guy.”
That instinct says a lot about the enduring legacy of Darth Vader. He is still one of the most frightening villains in movie history. At the same time, it’s a reminder that even star kids have to separate what they see on screen from who their parents really are.
Fame Meets Fatherhood In A Different Kind Of ‘Star Wars’ Story

Beyond the emotional side, Christensen has also raised age-appropriate concerns. The ‘Star Wars‘ prequels, especially ‘Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith,’ feature intense moments like the Mustafar duel, along with darker themes, including implied violence against younglings.

He has admitted being “reluctant” to let his daughter watch those scenes at such a young age. In fact, he once walked out of an early screening of the film after about 20 minutes, just before things became too heavy.
For now, Christensen is staying patient, trusting that the day will come when she’s ready to dive into the franchise. Until then, he’s content being Briar’s real-life hero off-screen.
And fans still have plenty to look forward to. Christensen’s journey in a galaxy far, far away isn’t over yet. He’s set to return in ‘Ahsoka‘ Season 2.
