The Coen brothers’ cult classic stoner comedy ‘The Big Lebowski’ is a singular experience. However, if the Coens call for the sequel, the Dude will abide. Jeff Bridges is still full of love and respect for the directorial duo that gave him his most memorable role, and he is more than ready for ‘The Big Lebowski 2.‘
Jeff Bridges is open to playing ‘The Dude’ one more time. ‘The Big Lebowski’ is a film that spawned off a genre of its own. But none come close to capturing the existential dread with the dose of humor like the Coens. Usually, talking about making sequels to sacred movies is a huge no-no, but this is one time an exception can be made.

Jeff Bridges Is Eager To Reprise ‘The Dude’
In his action-hero phase, Jeff Bridges was recently seen as a former CIA man in the FX series ‘The Old Man.’ But the actor told People he would love to go back to playing ‘The Dude.’ The iconic slacker gets caught up in the blackmail scheme gone wrong, going on a psychedelic odyssey across seedy Los Angeles.
Jeff Bridges told the outlet, “Oh God! If the brothers were involved, I certainly would. The brothers, they’re mysterious and full of surprises. You don’t know what they’re going to do, so since they’re surprising, I don’t think they’ll make a sequel. But like I say, they’re surprising, so maybe they’ll surprise me and make a sequel.”

‘The Big Lebowski’ Spin-Off Didn’t Do Well At Box-Office
John Turturo, who played Jesus Quintana in the film, wrote and directed a spin-off based on his character. ‘The Jesus Rolls’ was also an English-language remake of Bertrand Blier’s 1974 French movie ‘Going Places.’ The film came and went without making any noise at the box office, with critics equally baffled by a spin-off/remake no one asked for.
Perhaps this is why some films should remain untouchable. You risk destroying the soul that made it memorable by tinkering with them. Written and directed by Joel and Ethan, ‘The Big Lebowski’ came out in 1998. The crime comedy also stars John Goodman, Steve Buscemi, h Sam Elliott, Julianne Moore, John Turturro, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Tara Reid, David Thewlis, Peter Stormare, and Ben Gazzara.
