Jessie Buckley Thinks Callum Should Play James Bond
At the 2026 Oscars red carpet, Buckley spoke with Variety about who she thinks should be the next Bond. “I think Callum Turner would be great,” Buckley revealed.
The interviewer immediately commented that she didn’t mention her close friend and collaborator, Paul Mescal. Buckley responded with a teasing smile, “No, I didn’t. I answered the question. Paul is already my James Bond.”
Earlier, Jessie Buckley had revealed that she would consider joining the upcoming James Bond film under two conditions. She would take on the role if the movie were shot in Ireland, her birthplace, and if Paul Mescal were involved.

Jessie Buckley isn’t on the wrong track with Callum Turner, as the English actor is one of the favorites for the role of James Bond. Earlier, in an interview at the Berlin International Film Festival, Turner shared his thoughts on the Bond casting rumors. He replied, “It’s very early for that question. I’m not going to comment on it”. So, all hope isn’t lost for his fans, and now Buckley’s endorsement should add weight to his chances.
