Margot Robbie Reveals Full-Frontal Nud*ty In ‘Wolf Of Wall Street’ Was Her Idea, Refused To Cover Up With A Robe

Margot Robbie‘s role in ‘Wolf Of Wall Street’ has been one of the boldest choices of her career, as she stunned alongside Leonardo DiCaprio in one of her most iconic roles to date.

One of the most significant roles in the film was a scene where Robbie went full-on nude – a scene that has been one of the most talked about moments in her career. Here’s how the scene came to exist and how it was all her idea.

During her appearance on TCM’s Ben Mankiewicz’s ‘Talking Pictures‘ podcast, Margot Robbie disclosed that Martin Scorsese, the director of ‘Wolf of Wall Street,’ actually gave her the opportunity to avoid appearing completely nude in the movie. At the time, she revealed how she wasn’t even considering how “everyone is going to see this.”

“[Scorsese] said, ‘Maybe you can be wearing a robe if you’re not comfortable.’ But that’s not what she would do in that scene,” Robbie said. “The whole point is that she’s going to come out completely naked—that’s the card she’s playing right now.”

The actress, who just welcomed her first baby, added how she improvised a few scenes, like kissing DiCaprio in the face instead of a liplock. “I thought, ‘I could kiss Leonardo DiCaprio right now, and that would be awesome. I can’t wait to tell all of my friends this.’ And then I thought nah. And just walloped him in the face,” Robbie said. “It was dead silent for what felt like an eternity but was probably three seconds.”
