20. Moana (July 10, 2026)

Based on the beloved Jane Austen novel, the new adaptation of ‘Sense and Sensibility‘ is set to release on September 25, 2026. The period romantic drama is focused on sisters Elinor and Marianne Dashwood as they adjust to their new reality after the sudden death of their father leaves their family in financial uncertainty.
Daisy Edgar-Jones will step into the role of sensible Elinor, while Esmé Creed-Miles portrays the passionate Marianne. This marks the first major screen revival of the novel since the iconic 1995 film starring Emma Thompson and Kate Winslet, still widely regarded as one of the finest Austen adaptations ever made.
18. Whalefall (October 16, 2026)
It is set to be released on October 16, 2026, and the premise alone of this survival thriller is enough to make your heart race. Produced by Brian Duffield, the film will star Austin Abrams and Josh Brolin in this survival story, unlike anything we have seen on screen this year.
The movie will be based on the novel of the same name by Daniel Kraus, following a young scuba diver searching for his deceased father’s remains at sea. His mission takes a turn when he is swallowed whole by a sperm whale, trapping him inside the creature with only an hour left to escape before he runs out of oxygen.
17. Coyote vs. Acme (August 28, 2026)
Warner Bros.’ new live-action/animation hybrid film, ‘Coyote vs. Acme,’ will show a brand-new side of the ‘Looney Tunes’ character. Despite the company trying to bury the project, the legal comedy film will finally hit the screen on August 28, 2026, all thanks to the relentless fans.
This time, Wile E. Coyote will be stepping into the courtroom to pursue a lawsuit against the Acme Corporation for repeatedly selling him faulty products. As the case unfolds, Coyote grows closer to Kevin and finds himself opposed by the slick, confident Buddy Crane.
16. Avatar: Aang, The Last Airbender (October 9, 2026)
Ready to return to the Earth Kingdom? The wait is finally over because the latest addition to the ‘Avatar: The Last Airbender’ franchise is set to be released on October 9, 2026. Director Lauren Montgomery will return, along with a completely new cast, in this animated fantasy film.
K-Pop star Eric Nam will be taking up the role of Aang, the last living Air Nomad and current Avatar. He is joined by Dionne Quan, Jessica Matten, Román Zaragoza, Steven Yeun, Dave Bautista, and more.
Set in the years after the defeat of Fire Lord Ozai, the world’s last airbender, Aang, finds out an ancient power that can save his culture from extinction.

15. Verity (October 2, 2026)
It will be the fourth Colleen Hoover adaptation hitting the theaters on October 2, 2026. But this new movie will depart from the usual realms that we associate with Colleen Hoover. Instead, the author takes up the genre of psychological thriller.
The film follows Lowen Ashleigh, a struggling writer, who is hired to complete bestselling author Verity Crawford’s work after she suffers an accident. Lowen moves into the Crawford household to start working on the project, only to find disturbing truths that the family is hiding.
14. Enola Holmes 3
The beloved detective once again returns to our screens this year in the third installment of the Enola Holmes detective movie franchise. Though Netflix hasn’t revealed a fixed release date yet, it has promised another unforgettable adventure and time with a major twist.
‘Enola Holmes 3’ will take our beloved sleuth global. The movie will be set in the island nation of Malta, where she has to juggle her new case along with the next stages of her relationship with Tewkesbury.
Along with Millie Bobby Brown, Louise Patridge, Henry Cavill, and Helena Bonham Carter, the movie will also feature the exciting new addition of Himesh Patel as Watson and Sharon Duncan-Brewster as Moriarty.
13. Digger (October 2, 2026)
‘Digger’ will bring together one of the most iconic matches of the year, blockbuster star Tom Cruise collaborating with acclaimed filmmaker Alejandro González Iñárritu in this upcoming black comedy satire.
The creators are keeping the movie’s plot under wraps. Tom Cruise’s character, Digger Rockwell, is described as the most powerful man in the world, who must prove his status as humanity’s savior before the disaster he unleashed destroys everything.
Cruise will be joined by Jesse Plemons, Sandra Hüller, Riz Ahmed, Sophie Wilde, and more. The movie is scheduled to release on October 2, 2026.
12. Disclosure Day (June 12, 2026)
Steven Spielberg is reuniting with David Koepp once again to create another blockbuster science-fiction movie, ‘Disclosure Day’, which will be released on June 12, 2026.
There is deliberate secrecy around the movie’s plot, and we know nothing except that it will be a UFO film. In the trailers, we see Emily Blunt, who plays a Kansas City TV meteorologist, announce that extraterrestrial beings are approaching Earth. Whether this is an intergalactic adventure or an international conspiracy, no one knows.
Knowing Spielberg, there has to be some crazy twist waiting for us in the film. Along with Blunt, ‘Disclosure Day’ will also star Josh O’Connor, Colin Firth, Eve Hewson, and others.
11. Devil Wears Prada 2 (May 1, 2026)
After 2 decades, the iconic trio will return to the ‘Runaway’ offices in ‘Devil Wears Prada 2’ on May 1, 2026. The movie will see Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, Emily Blunt, and Stanley Tucci reprising their roles. Newcomers Simone Ashley and Kenneth Branagh are also joining the comedy drama.
As Miranda navigates the new landscape of ‘Runaway,‘ her former assistants, Andy and Emily, return. This will undeniably result in another square-off between the trio, but Andy and Emily are no longer her petrified assistants. They come back as high-powered executives, whose advertising revenue Miranda desperately needs.

10. Masters Of The Universe (June 5, 2026)
Mattel’s iconic ‘He-Man’ toy line is finally coming to our screens. With its fanbase dating back to the 1980s, this sword-and-sorcery film will finally be released on June 5, 2026.
Nicholas Galitzine will take on the role of Prince Adam, aka He-Man. The movie follows his journey back to his home planet, Eternia, to save it from evil forces. He will face off against the evil tyrannical ruler Skeletor, played by Jared Leto. The cast also includes Camila Mendes, Alison Brie, James Purefoy, and Morena Baccarin.
9. Werwulf (December 25, 2026)
Get ready to be transported back to the Middle Ages this Christmas, because horror maestro Robert Eggers is returning with another period gothic horror film. From the creators of ‘Nosferatu’ and ‘The Witch’, ‘Werwulf’ is sure to leave your nerves shredded.
The movie will be set in a small English village in the 13th century, where a mysterious creature straight out of local folklore haunts the villagers. It is scheduled for release in theaters on December 25, 2026.
Eggers will be reuniting with Lily-Rose Depp in the movies. Along with them, we will also see Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Willem Dafoe, Ralph Ineson, and more.
8. Supergirl (June 26, 2026)
After teasing us with her appearance on ‘The Flash’, DC has finally decided to take up Supergirl’s story. Sasha Calle, this time, Mily Alcock will play Supergirl. The film will be released on June 26, 2026.
It will revolve around Kara Zor-El, Superman’s cousin, who was raised on the destroyed planet of Krypton and had to face the death of everyone around her. In celebration of her 23rd birthday, Kara travels across the galaxy with her dog Krypto, where she encounters a tragedy and is led on a murderous quest for revenge.
7. Spider-Man: Brand New Day (July 31, 2026)
Tom Holland will be beating Tobey Maguire and heading for a fourth Spider-Man movie this year. ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ will be released on July 31, 2026, as part of the MCU’s Phase Six.
Holland and Zendaya will reprise their roles as Peter Parker and MJ. Along with them, Sadie Sink, Jacob Batalon, Jon Bernthal, Tramell Tillman, Michael Mando, and Mark Ruffalo will also join the film.
Following Dr. Strange’s spell at the end of ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’, the world has forgotten that Peter Parker exists. This time, Parker will have to face a powerful new threat anonymously while also dealing with his superpowers and undergoing a surprising, potentially dangerous evolution.
6. The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping (November 20, 2026)
The most anticipated addition to the dystopian action franchise of ‘The Hunger Games’ is set to hit the theaters on November 20, 2026. It will be set 24 years before the first film, when we follow a young Haymitch Abernathy, mentor to Katniss and Peeta. This time, we will get to see his experience in the 50th Hunger Games, also known as the 2nd Quarter Quell, which requires twice as many tributes.
Along with high stakes, the movie also features a stacked cast, including Joseph Zada, Elle Fanning, Kieran Culkin, Whitney Peak, McKenna Grace, Ben Wang, Glenn Close, Jesse Plemons, Ralph Fiennes, Kelvin Harrison Jr., Maya Hawke, Lili Taylor, Billy Porter, and more. Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson will also briefly return in their iconic roles.
5. Dune: Part Three (December 16, 2026)
Villeneuve will return to adapt ‘Dune Messiah’, the highly anticipated finale of the Dune franchise, set for release on December 16, 2026. This time, the setting is years after the film’s predecessor, where Emperor Paul Atreides must confront the darker side of his ascent to power.
As political plots and a galaxy-wide war threaten his empire, Paul will need to address the future of his family and his throne. The film will feature Timothée Chalamet, Zendaya, Jason Momoa, Florence Pugh, Rebecca Ferguson, Isaach de Bankolé, Charlotte Rampling, Anya Taylor-Joy, Robert Pattinson, and Javier Bardem.
4. Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu (May 22, 2026)
Instead of the fourth season of the series, Disney has decided to give us ‘The Mandalorian and Grogu’. It is a standalone film that will finally see the return of the ‘Star Wars’ universe to theaters on May 22, 2026.
Pedro Pascal will be reprising his role as Din Djarin/The Mandalorian, along with everyone’s favorite little friend, Grogu. After the fall of the Galactic Empire, the duo works for the New Republic while the threats of imperial warlords hover over them.
Jeremy Allen White will be joining the ‘Star Wars’ universe as Rotta the Hutt, the son of deceased crime lord Jabba the Hutt. Sigourney Weaver will also join the cast, though her role remains a mystery.
3. Avengers: Doomsday (December 18, 2026)
This one is certainly Marvel’s most ambitious project to date, as it will bring together the whole cinematic universe. The setting is 14 months after the events of ‘The Thunderbolts’. Now, the Avengers, Wakandans, Fantastic Four, New Avengers, and the original X-Men will need to team up to face Doom.
This means the movie will reunite the beloved ensemble cast from all these Marvel franchises. The biggest twist lies in Robert Downey Jr.’s role: he will return not as Iron Man but as Doctor Doom, leading this team. ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ will be released on December 18, 2026.
2. The Odyssey (July 17, 2026)
Christopher Nolan’s adaptation of Homer’s ancient epic, ‘The Odyssey,‘ is scheduled for release on July 17, 2026. The film boasts a stacked cast list so ridiculously iconic it’s even for Nolan. It will feature Matt Damon, Tom Holland, Anne Hathaway, Robert Pattinson, Lupita Nyong’o, Zendaya, Charlize Theron, and more.
The movie will tell the story of Odysseus on his long, terrifying journey home from the Trojan War. With a beloved classic manuscript and an iconic cast list, ‘The Odyssey’ is sure to be one of the highest-grossing films this year.
1. Narnia: The Magician’s Nephew (November 26, 2026)
After the blockbuster success of ‘Barbie’, expectations were already high for Greta Gerwig’s next project. Furthermore, she has decided to take up the iconic prequel to ‘The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe’.
‘Narnia: The Magician’s Nephew’ will be the fourth film in the Narnia franchise and will be released on November 26, 2026. The high fantasy film will reinvent the story of how Aslan created the world of Narnia, adding a modern twist to C.S. Lewis’s tale.
Creators have kept the movie’s plot tightly under wraps, but the trailers have hinted that it might depart completely from the books to explore new realms. Along with it, it will also feature performances from Emma Mackey as the White Witch and Daniel Craig as the titular magician. Carey Mulligan and Beatrice Campbell have also joined the cast, with Meryl Streep lending her voice for Aslan.
