Just days before the highly anticipated release of ‘Project Hail Mary‘, Ryan Gosling has finally leaned all the way into the internet’s longest-running roast.
While appearing on a podcast, the ‘Barbie‘ star openly declared that no matter how many Oscars he chases or blockbusters he headlines, sports Twitter will always remember him as an absolute liability due to ‘Remember the Titans‘.
Ryan Gosling Embraces His Most Viral Movie Joke

In a hilarious moment on the ‘New Heights‘ podcast hosted by the famous NFL stars Travis and Jason Kelce, Gosling did not shy away when they brought it up.
“You had to call out Remember the Titans,” Gosling laughed at his role in the 2000 sports classic. “Never forget that I’m a liability at the corner[back position].”
He did not stop there. “It doesn’t matter what I accomplish in my life,” the 45-year-old continued, “there will be someone in the comment section that says, ‘Never forget he’s an absolute liability at the corner.'”
He even playfully interrupted the hosts, adding, “‘He’s a liability at the corner — who cares? Get Petey in there, ASAP!’“
The Scene That Turned Into A 25-Year-Old Internet Roast

The self-aware moment shows how Ryan Gosling remains at the center of a joke that is somehow still relevant online, even 26 years after the release of the 2000 Disney sports movie.
In ‘Remember the Titans‘, Gosling played Alan Bosley, a confident cornerback for his high school team during a time of racial tension. However, Bosley is benched and called “a liability at corner” when a better player, Petey Jones, joins the team.
In case you missed it:
Although the scene where Bosley steps aside for the good of the team has become memorable, the internet has since turned it into a running joke that people still reference to this day.
Ryan Gosling appeared on the New Heights podcast to promote his upcoming sci-fi film ‘Project Hail Mary’, but the conversation somehow kept swirling back to that gridiron flop.
The Kelce brothers couldn’t contain their laughter, with Jason jokingly admitting that he respects Bosley’s decision because “we are all about team players, and that was a team move.”
Gosling, touched by the invitation despite his fictional shortcomings, added, “The fact that you guys would have me, knowing I’m a liability at the corner, means a lot to me.”
‘Project Hail Mary‘ is set to be released this Friday, on March 20.
