‘The Hunger Games: The Ballad Of Songbirds And Snakes‘ teaser is finally here. The highly anticipated ‘The Hunger Games‘ prequel is all set to release on November 17, 2023, though it was released at CinemaCon more than a month ago. Lionsgate studio has formally unveiled the teaser on YouTube.
‘The Hunger Games‘ Prequel Looks Exciting
Collins’ Songbirds and Snakes, the prequel to ‘The Hunger Games‘ trilogy was published back in 2020. It finds 18-year-old Coriolanus Snow as the last hope for his fading lineage. He is part of a once-proud family that has fallen from grace in a post-war Capitol. With the 10th annual Hunger Games fast approaching, the young Snow is alarmed when he is assigned to mentor Lucy Gray Baird. She is the girl tribute from impoverished District 12. But, after Gray commands all of Panem’s attention by defiantly singing during the reaping ceremony, Snow thinks he might be able to turn the odds in their favor.
Together they unite their instincts for showmanship and political acumen. Snow and Lucy race against time to survive. This will ultimately reveal who is a songbird, and who is a snake.
Lionsgate announced during CinemaCon 2022 that the prequel will be released on November 17, 2023. In the same pre-Thanksgiving corridor where ‘Hunger Games sequels Catching Fire’, ‘Mockingjay Part One‘, and ‘Mockingjay Part Two’ opened.
The sequels were directed by Francis Lawrence, who also returns for the new movie. The latest draft of the screenplay is by Michael Lesslie. He’s famous for his work in movies such as ‘Macbeth’ and ‘Assassin’s Creed‘.
Actor Tom Blyth is all geared up to play Coriolanus Snow. While Rachel Zegler will be playing the character of Lucy Gray Baird in the prequel.
