Tim Burton’s ‘Beetlejuice‘ is nothing short of legendary. With whimsical costumes, dark comedy, and a distinctive style, Tim has put his heart and soul into the movie. But what if we say he has done more than that? Burton has also done a hidden cameo in the film.
In a director’s commentary for ‘Beetlejuice Beetlejuice,’ Tim Burton revealed that he has a hidden cameo in the hit movie. This was an easter egg in the film but he didn’t appear physically. Here’s what he revealed.
Tim Burton Lent His Voice To Baby Betelgeuse In ‘Beetlejuice 2’
The sequel of ‘Beetlejuice‘ had various scenes that were special in their own ways but the thing that may come as the most surprising for many could be Tim Burton lending his voice to Baby Betelgeuse. That’s right, Baby Betelgeuse, the demonic baby in ‘Beetlejuice Beetlejuice‘ has been voiced by none other than Burton.
The voice makes a cameo on two occasions. First is when Betelgeuse forces Lydia to birth the demonic baby and later at the end of the movie during Lydia’s nightmare scene.

Moreover, the baby is also accompanied by disturbing snarling and growling noises during his appearances, in Lydia’s nightmare, called Astrid “mommy” in a garbled voice. Surprisingly, Tim Burton also made these sounds.
Beetlejuice Isn’t The Only Movie Tim Burton Had A Cameo In
Moreover, Tim Burton revealed that he took professional guidance on how to make infant noises. At first, he opted for Michael Keaton to perform the baby’s noise but Keaton suggested that Burton should do it. Burton used to scare his own children by mimicking the voice of Sun Baby from Teletubbies which helped him make the baby noises for Demonic Baby in the movie.
Moreover, Burton has also appeared in his other movies. Apart from ‘Beetlejuice 2′, Tim has appeared in his own movies including ‘Pee-wee’s Big Adventures‘ and ‘Miss Peregrine’s Home For Peculiar Children’.
