Colleen Hoover’s stories are built on emotion, tension, and unforgettable relationships. Now that her stories are making their way to the screen, fans are experiencing that intensity in a whole new format.
But not every adaptation hits the same note. While some capture the heart of her storytelling, others fail to do so. Here’s a ranking of all Colleen Hoover movies so far.
3. Regretting You (2025)

We are keeping ‘Regretting You‘ last in our list because it misses the very things that make a Colleen Hoover story work. The film reveals its biggest conflict too early and leaves the rest of the story to move in a straight, predictable line.
Clara and her mother, Morgan, are forced to navigate the course of life after Morgan’s husband and sister have met with a car accident. While grieving the loss, they come across some information that further wrecks their world.
Ultimately, the betrayal forces them to rebuild their lives from scratch. In the meantime, we also get a sneak peek at Clara’s romantic life, but even that doesn’t do much for the movie. Every thread in the movie gets tangled way too early, and some never reach their destination.

2. It Ends With Us (2024)

Sure, the book made Colleen Hoover an internet sensation almost in the blink of an eye. But the behind-the-scenes drama took most of that away.
Just a step above the bottom spot, ‘It Ends with Us‘ had it all: massive fan hype, a powerful story, and huge box office numbers. But it still falls short as a complete adaptation. The story has strong moments, especially during the emotional and flashback scenes. And you can clearly see why the book connected so deeply with readers.
The problem, however, lies in the film’s overall unevenness. Some scenes land really well, while others feel rushed or not fully explored. The movie stays close to the book. But doesn’t go deep enough into the emotions, which makes parts of it feel incomplete.

1. Reminders of Him (2026)

The one that tops our list had to be ‘Reminders of Him‘ because it was received better than the other two. The story of the movie is about Kenna, who is released from prison after serving five years of her sentence for vehicular manslaughter that killed her boyfriend, Scotty, who was also the father of her child.
Even though she hopes to reconcile with her 4-year-old daughter after coming out. But all her hopes are crushed when everyone else is determined to cut her out of her daughter’s life. The only thread attached between her and her daughter is Ledger, a local bar owner and best friend of her late boyfriend.
The romance between Ledger and Kenna was quite uncalled for, though. Definitely didn’t see that coming, but their intense chemistry is to die for. The separation of the mother and daughter is heart-wrenching, too. It hurts to see the lengths to which Kenna goes just to reconcile with her daughter. But everything works out for the best in the end.
