When Will ‘We’re The Millers 2’ Be Released?
Looking at the success that the film ‘We’re the Millers’ got, Warner Bros. Pictures and New Line Cinema had teased a TV series adaptation titled ‘We’re the Millers 2’ back in 2014. However, it never officially got a green flag by director Rawson Marshall Thurber. For now, it tentatively remains titled ‘We’re Still the Millers’, while its release date remains shrouded in mystery.
The project faced a lot of uncertainty since it was announced in 2014. Actress Jennifer Aniston, an important part of the film, said in March 2023 that the sequel was no longer in development. The fans were left heartbroken after the ‘Friends’ actor’s statement.
However, some reports suggested the movie might still be in the works, and is likely to get released in 2025 or 2026. Director Thurber, meanwhile, had his focus on some of his other projects including ‘Skyscraper’ and the Netflix thriller ‘Red Notice’ with Dwayne Johnson, Ryan Reynolds, and Gal Gadot. With two such vital projects underway, the Millers seem to have taken a backseat.

The Plot And Cast Of ‘We’re The Millers 2’
The sequel will likely retain its old star cast including Jennifer Aniston, Jason Sudeikis, Will Poulter, Emma Roberts, and Ed Helms. The familiar faces are the life of the movie and will most likely also bring the same comic prowess to the table in the sequel.
Reports suggest that in the hypothetical sequel, the Millers are likely to find themselves in newer, more challenging suburban adventures. Their old boss, Brad Gurdlinger, will get them involved in another drug run, this time also from Mexico. And of course, there would be a rival drug cartel and a comical cop. What will add more spice to the storyline would be a mysterious woman claiming to be David’s ex-wife.
Old friends and enemies of the Millers family, including Don and Edie Fitzgerald, Pablo Chacón, and Scottie P, might also get a re-entry into the sequel.
‘We’re the Millers 2’ has high expectations riding on its back. So it would not really be a surprise if the movie makers take all the time they need before they release it. Meanwhile, fans can always binge-watch the first part on Netflix to get some hearty laughs.
