It’s hard to imagine anyone else doing justice, but the film wasn’t offered initially to Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence. The now disgraced film producer revealed that Anne Hathaway had initially turned down the film. Mark Wahlberg was considered for the male lead. But both castings fell out.

‘Silver Linings Playbook’ Was Meant For Anne Hathaway And Wahlberg
Harvey Weinstein told ‘The Howard Stern Show’ host that Anne Hathaway was the top on the list to play Tiffany, with Mark Wahlberg set to play Patt. However, Hathaway bowed out due to creative differences with the director David O. Russell. Mark Wahlberg also left the project soon. And then came along Jennifer Lawrence.
Harvey Weinstein added, “Jennifer Lawrence and two or three other actresses come in. I said, ‘How the hell are we going to replace Annie?’ And then this amazing creature walked in, who’s a brilliant actress and so much fun, and she won the Oscar.” Bradley Cooper took over the role from Mark Wahlberg.

Jennifer Lawrence Won Best Actress Oscar For ‘Silver Linings Playbook’
‘Silver Linings Playbook’ was a critical and commercial success, making $236.4 million worldwide. It received eight nominations at the 85th Academy Awards, including Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Adapted Screenplay. Jennifer Lawrence won the Oscar for Best Actress, cementing her status as a movie star.
Coincidentally, Anne Hathaway, who turned down ‘Silver Linings Playbook,’ also won an Oscar in the same year. She took home winning the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for playing Fantine in Tom Cooper’s musical ‘Les Misérables.’ Ultimately, it worked out for both parties; they are still going strong in their careers.
