10. Star Wars: Detours
Star Wars Detour was a complete parody of the original movies with an animation style that felt like AI. It was goin well before Disney’s acquisition of LucasFilms. However, Disney pulled the plug on the series even though fans were eagerly anticipating more from the satirical, comedy series. The decision was taken because Disney feared it might dilute the brand.
9. Rangers of the New Republic
Rangers of the New Republic was a Disney+ series and Mandalorian spin-off that never really happened. The show was supposed to highlight the struggles of the New Republic, through the point of view of pilots like Carson Teva. It was supposed to be Disney’s version of the X-Wing novels, however, it got cancelled at the last moment owing to its star, Gina Carana.
8. The Original Boba Fett Movie
Josh Trank was developing this story for years. The story was first pitched like a Logan-style bounty hunter Western. Eventually, fans did get to see the Book of Boba Fett series, but it was nowhere near as gritty and lone-gunslinger focused as the promised movie. The audience still wants something that focuses on the myth more than the man himself.
7. The Lando Series
Lando’s role was supposed to reprised by Donald Grover. While Disney+ announced the series in 2020, it never really saw the light. The project is in development from years and turned into a movie from show. The fans are desperate to see more of Glover as Lando after his amazing performance in ‘Solo.’
6. The Crimson Dawn/Maul Spinoff
The Crimson Dawn and its leader Maul were the biggest cliffhangers from ’Star Wars: Solo’. Maul was revealed as the leader of the Crime Dawn crime syndicate and fans were already eager to see more of the criminal empire and his relationship with his lieutenant, Qi’ra. This intended sequel was once again scrapped leaving the fans disappointed.
5. Rian Johnson's Trilogy
The Skywalker saga is the main highlight of Star Wars. However, director Rian Johnson was commissioned for developing a new trilogy that was completely different from the Skywalker story. The promise of the story was really well even though fans did not like the fact that the ‘Last Jedi’ director was in charge of producing the movie. Fans are still hoping to see the true evolution of Star Wars with this project.
4. Rogue Squadron
‘Top-Gun’ in space?! Hell yeah! The fans of the X-Wing book series have also longed for a show about the pilots and the Rogue Squadron promised the same. It was supposed to deliver the thrill of starfighter combat, so when it simply got removed from the schedule, fans couldn’t help but be sad.

Star Wars 1313 is a video game but the mature story of the game was cinematic that it became the idea for a potential movie. The movie could follow the same plot as the game with a young Boba Fett navigating the underworld of Coruscant’s level 1313. George Lucas’s direct involvement with a dark story instantly rose the fans expectations which again never came true.
2. Episode IX: Duel of the Fates
Episode IX’s original script written by director Colin Trevorrow follows the same fan following as Zack Snyder’s Justice League. There was a vast difference in the story in the original script and what the fans got. t featured a First Order-occupied Coruscant, a double-bladed lightsaber for Rey, a haunted Kylo Ren, and no return of Palpatine.
1. Star Wars: Underworld
Star Wars: Underworld was George Lucas’s unproduced TV show set between Episode III and IV. It was the holy grail and over 50 scripts were written for the story. It was a complex, noir-themed show focusing on rival crime families, smugglers, and the seedy politics of Coruscant as the Empire rose to power. It’s the gritty, "adult" Star Wars that fans have been dreaming of for decades.
